I once met noel & gem at a jet gig in a uni type place, small venue & i was at the bar ordering loads of drink & just left them there at the bar when i spotted noel, had a 5 minute chat with him & he shook my hand, cant remember what album was due for release but when i said its been ages since the last one, he said "its not a fooking race though is it" with a smile
I was in the sir richard steele pub in chalk farm, i was with my girlfriend eating bangers & mash in the beer garden & i saw paul, their brother & i told my girlfriend this & also mentioned that liam could well be here aswell & 2 minutes later he & friends were sitting on the bench next to us, was no longer hungry & was really fucking nervous, we sat there for over an hour but i didnt have the bottle to say anything to him for some reason but the funny thing was we left this pub & went to the hill, a pub just a short walk away & guessed who walked in, liam & co! He was necking the stella & was getting louder & louder, i wanted to say hello but if he told me to fuck off id be devastated so i didnt day nothing, surreal day though!

I didnt go but my mates went to see Echobelly in London somewhere. Before the gig they went to a local pub and in the corner playing pool with his mates was Liam !
My mate went to the loo and then Liam comes in and has a piss, when theyre both washing their hands Liam says to him 'who do you think you are Damon fuckin albarn' (in a jokey voice) as my mate had a type of necklace with beads on (??). Anyway Liam says come over and join us if you want
So for the rest of the night they were playing pool with Liam and his mates, had a few drinks bought for them, got them some. Said Liam was a top bloke, wasnt rude at all, having a good laugh and was very down to earth.
Often told that story to many people, the idiots who say Liams a yob because they read one story in the Sun when a reporters winding up Liam after the pub at 4am in the morning just to get a photo of him angry.

In June 2002 i travelled from Manchester to Lyon (south of France) to watch the oasis opening show on the Heathen Chemistry tour. On the day of the show I went to check the venue out and to see if there was any hope of catching the band soundchecking. The venue was only small (approx 1000 capacity) and there didn’t seem much in the way of security. After a few hours of waiting around in the carpark at the back of the venue in the hot afternoon sun, the band finished soundchecking and came out of the venue round the back next to the car park. Alan White was first out and said hello and got on the tour bus. Liam jumped in a fast car and waved has he shot past. There was no sign of Andy or Gem. A short while later Noel came walking out with a security guard and came over to where a group of 20 oasis fans (myself included) had gathered. I went up to Noel politely and all I got back was a sarcastic flippant remark. I asked him another polite question and he was rude and walked past me. An English girl stood next to me told Noel that she had taken 2 x flights to get to Lyon for the concert. Noel replied that she had more money than sense and so what! The girl was nearly in tears. I tried again to be polite be he just gave me a clever remark. In end I told him to show some respect to the English fans. We both told each other to ‘fuck off’. I’ got a couple of vinyl records signed by Noel and I took a few close up pictures when he was stood in front of me signing autographs. The photos have come out well. I also got an official copy of that nights set list from a security guard. So I didn’t do too bad in terms of cool items to take home. Just a shame Noel was a miserable bastard. My gut feeling is that he didn’t want English fans there. If any of you have the bootleg to this show, then listen to what Noel says to the English fans before he plays Little By Little. Wanker!

not exactly a meeting per se, but the end of the night after the Cleveland concert is probably one of my favorite memories. taken from my lj/a previous post from the Soapbox about said concert. I just took out the bit talking about the concert itself..

Yup. We had a really good time that night, minus the cab ride back to the hotel. As for backstage, I don't really have much, if any advice to offer. In my experiences, we've always had passes given to us, so it never really came down to an issue of trying to get them. But there's always a first time for everything!

I was there with Castlecraver in the front row Never had to pee so bad after a show in my life Nice. My friend & I were about a row back from you possibly. The end of the show was great until some jackass in a leather jacket kicked me in the stomach in his attempt to get up onstage The end of that gig was craziness. I still can't believe they stayed onstage. We were just counting down the seconds until Liam walked off. But credit to them they had a bit of a laugh and stuck with it. We were on Noel's side right in front of him I have pics on a disc somewhere

They were really tickled with it after the show, in all honesty. I think I remember either Liam or Noel saying that the show had gone "all Manchester" at that point. My friend who was with me and is a big Moz fan said that it reminded her a lot of the end of Moz's concerts. I did get a kick out of the guys who were running up to Noel trying to shake his hand while he's still playing the guitar lol.
