Will Oasis ever release this gig? It's quality.
Liam's vocals are perfect. Check out Don't Go Away....simply amazing:
and of course a legendary performance of Stay Young:

Stay Young is a fucking great tune. And there are plenty of concerts Oasis need to release. Probably waiting till they break up and cash in, the bastards!

Yeah, we need a DVD boxset already...
Maine Road (or Knebworth, but let's be honest, apart from the size of the thing, it was hardly their best gig of the tour...) GMex One of the South American BHN shows Glasgow 2001 Finsbury Park Boston 2005
.... it just has to be done.

Den Bosch 1997 was great. Amen to that! That gig is just colossal!!! Mega version of Champagne Supernova there. The Budokan gig is also really really good! Love Noels acoustic set there.

I doubt they would release Maine Road considering most of There And Then was made up of Maine Road footage.

To be honest, I prefer den Bosch than G-Mex and yes, Budokan is one of the top 5 Oasis gigs with the very best of CS.

I was at both Maine Road and GMEX shows. Maine Road was without doubt the better concert. The GMEX show suffered from a quiet atmosphere. The fans were mostly a new breed of oasis fan. There were mums, dads, kids and first time fans to an oasis concert. It was different than Maine Road. And Maine Road was only the previous year. I just thought the GMEX was strange. GMEX sounds good on dvd and cd. But i don't think it was one of Oasis better shows.

I have no idea why the G-Mex gig is held up there in such high esteem from so many Oasis fans, I think they sound really flat on it and the crowd is shit. The best Oasis gig I have been to was in a big circus tent on Irvine Beach in 1995, absolutely electric compared to G-Mex.

The thing about GMEX... are there any other perfect quality bootleg DVDs from the Be Here Now tour?

The thing about GMEX... are there any other perfect quality bootleg DVDs from the Be Here Now tour? Yes, I can at least think of the aforementioned Den Bosch gig and the Budokan gig. Both of those are very recommended! The Den Bosch bootleg is called Destroyer, and the Budokan is called Three Nights In A Judo Arena.

G-Mex definitely benefits from being widely available as SB recording. Are they any other SB from the BHN era? I don't think my cop of Three Nights... is a SB.

Hey The thing iv always thought suffered from this show was the shocking sound mix ? can you imagine if it was recorded like Munich 97 ? with noels soaring guitar right up in the mix it's like it's going to blow ya head off The other thing i would love to know is how do oasis record there gigs ? if this was recorded multi track then they could do a great re edit of the sound and make it very good but if it's a straight mix from the desk or something mtv set up then it will always sound lame maybe Bruce Johnston Huw Richards or Gareth Williams(turn it up Gareth there is no fookin roof on the place lol ) the Oasis sound men can shed more light on the matter.... Also watching the gig straight from the master tapes would be amazing doing a complete reedit not to give the original producer Alex Coletti a bad rap but it really needs a fresh look being a cameraman myself and working in tv things have improved so much in 10 years since this even and the low shots of noel playing guitar from the cameraman right of stage is plane yuk lol that's my 10 bob worth GO Oasis

Yes, both the Budokan and Den Bosch bootlegs are soundboard. At least the ones I've got. Another Be Here Now era gig that I know is soundboard besides the G-Mex is the one Noel did from Dublin. It's called Noel Gets To The Point. Very recommended if you're a Noel fan.

I'm sure TheImportance has Noel Gets To The Point, Kenneth. I love that gig as "The Girl In The Dirty Shirt" has only been played live there.

That's FM as I recall, not soundboard. Anyone confirm? I don't feel like digging for the original CD..

The sound at the GMEX is good on cd and dvd because it was proffesionally recorded by MTV and also the BBC. MTV broadcasted the full concert on tv and at the same time the BBC broadcasted the full concert live on radio to approx 300 million listeners on the BBC world service radio. That's why it sounds good.
Apart from Den Bosch and the Dublin show (Noel vocals) the only other decent Be Here Now shows are the 2 x nights at the Hammerstein Ballroom New York. These New York shows are pretty decent.

Yeah, my copy of Noel Gets To The Point is definitely FM. All I recall about GMEX was Liams vocals being ragged, Noels vocals being out of tune (thus them re-recording the vocals for the Acquiesce release at the time of The Masterplan), and Noel's playing suddenly making my jaw drop...
