I've said this following line before, but I think it deserves it's own thread:

Oasis will never be as big as they were in the mid 1990s, mainly because the music critics will not let them be. HOWEVER, I strongly feel this album will be so good that it will deserve them to be that big again -- although, as i just said, they wont be.

I really do have this sense this album will be monumental.

I've said it countless times, and I'll say it again. No matter what you think of DBTT, it has def reinvigorated the band. The band are now focused, mature, determined etc. SOTSOG and HC suffered because their hearts wernt fully in it. But they care again, they want to do every little thing right.

When you have high expectations, you're only setting yourself up for disappointment. So I understand why some people here are pessimistic. And some people, no matter what the album turns out like, will hate it -- thats life.

But the signs are all there this will be a mega album.

This, I feel, has a chance to equal - and perhaps surpass - WTSMG.

Critics wont let Oasis become monumental again. But, just as DBTT did, it will prove the critics wrong, and show Oasis are not has-beens.

That was the best thing about DBTT. It showed Oasis still had it (we all knew they did, but stupid ass music critics didnt). And this album will show DBTT was not a fluke.

And there's one saving grace for the pessimistic type: Oasis never produce shit.

Ok, the consensus is HC/SOTSOG is weak (weve been through that argument hundreds of times, dont start it now again...). BUT, both albums have their moments.

So at the VERY least, we're looking at 3-4 AMAZING Oasis tunes, with 7 average/subpar tunes.

at the VERY best we're looking at an album on par with WTSMG

But, as outlined above, theres more evidence that this album will turn out for the better.
