I wont lie, it is a bit interesting reading these rumors. Granted, they are all utter BS and are basically just clogging up the forum -- but it's interesting bc the anticipation is now growing, and we're not far away from official news
I dont even fully believe the August release date. I'm not believing anything until The Chief confirms things.
Personally, I'm still going with a May/June release -- like DBTT
Point of this thread is that: Yeah, we're now getting close, but it wont be until March or so where things pick up with regards to official news, album title, tracklistings, song leaks, etc
People can obviously keep making up shit, but my advice to the devoted members on here: DONT REPLY. Read it, and think what you will of it, but concerning the BS posts -- and they're so easy to tell their BS -- just dont respond
If these idiots who create such posts dont get us excited/angry/annoyed/hopeful etc they will eventually become bored and will finally fuck off.
Anyone with like 2 posts posting an "exclusive" is ultimately full of shit.

Don't personally see anything wrong with speculation/rumours or replying to them, myself.

Yeah, though we can safely assume that most of the threads concerning the new album are preposterous they are, like live4ever stated, quite interesting to read. Whether you find enjoyment from discussing these threads or not it is quite clear that these threads spark excitement throughout the forum, and that's what it's all about.
We are all passionate about Oasis. The greatest thing we know about the new album is that we have no idea what to expect. Who knows, maybe some of the rumors are spot on, but regardless, I for one could not be more anxious.

I'm also keeping faith with a May-ish release, but like someone said yesterday I think, these bs posts contradict themselves and now there must be 25 songs "announced", but indeed this only makes the hype grow further. Everytime I see a thread that looks like it may finally be official news i get butterflies in the stomach naturally but i know we won't hear any real juicy stuff like you said for maybe a few months, so every passing day now has just been more of these tennis rejects screwing around giving false hope, when we still could ages to wait, they will eventually run out of bs to spew.

I don't mind replying and giving them k+ because even though it's 99% false, it still gives me a brief "fix".

I say let 'em fly. I like being surprised when I finally hear the new shit and it seems like with all the BS floating around, the truth would probably get lost in it too.

I honestly love all the rumours and the fake exclusives. It's all part of the imminent release of a new Oasis record. I've been around long enough to know what's shite and what's not, but it's a laugh all the same.
I reckon the album will be be out early July!

Remember... This guy was supposed to bring us a "fake" new in 2005:
Turn up the sun : Big heavy riffs with a wall of guitars. Reminded me of hindu time but stronger sound wise. It’s a massive rock song to open the new album. Liam singing. The chorus goes « come on, turn up the sun » with a lot of backing vocals and harmonies. You can relly hear noel during the chorus.
Mucky Fingers : Noel singing. Pop song influenced by the Kinks and Dylan. A bit like the first song but poppier. The guitars are Sardy trademarked. Not too heavy but really incisive, a bit like the sound of the guitars at Glastonbury last year.
Lyla : Liam singing. The first notes of the melody are ripped off Street Fighting Man. Really obvious. But the the rhythm is a bit like She’s Electric. Not really a pogoing kind of song despite what noel said
Love like a bomb : Liam singing. Very Beatles-ish. Liam sings « Blowin my mind ». Very fresh.
The importance of being idle : Noel Singing, The first thing that comes to mind is « that’s the kinks » it’s a beautiful ballad, pure and simple with chords changes ala Kinks. Could be a single.
The meaning of soul : Liam singing. Glastonbury version was full on rock, this on is filled with acoustic guitars, but its faster than the live version we have heard. Lot’s of backing vocals on the chorus. Seemed a bit rough.
Guess god think i'm able : Liam’s gonna shut a lot of people up with this one. Beginning of the song is just an acoustic guitar with a piano, no drums, and a beautiful melody. Liam’s voice sounds awesome.
Part of the queue : Noel singing. Weird rhythm, a bit cubain that’s about right. Kinks influenced again. A bit like sunny afternoon.
Keep the dream alive : Liam singing. Must be one of Andy’s songs coz it sound more like oasis than anything else on this record. It’s a rock n roll song in the vein of the first two tracks of the album
A bell will ring : Liam singing. Didnt change much compared to the Glasto version. Same guitar sound, same picking pattern, and the psychedelic drums.
Let there be love : Liam singing. Very impressive. It’s slower than noel’s demo, with a piano and an acoustic guitar. Sounds like Lennon, God era . Liam is very touching there but there doesnt seem to be a champagne supernova ending to it.

If anyone has been on NME as of late, they have this poll where you say who you would most want to perform at Festivals this summer, Oasis is included. Now I'm not saying NME knows something we don't, but its safe to say this will be a May-June release

Fans wouldn't have it.
