Do your parents like Oasis? Hate them? Can you talk to them about them?
My mom likes them, especially The Importance of Being Idle
My dad doesnt, and he cites their "bad boy" image of the mid 90s, which has been a turn off for most Americans.
But, i try to show my friends the great songs they never heard of, and i tend to at least semi-convert them. As us yank Oasis fans pride ourselves in doing. And my dad is no different.
Normally I wouldnt care lol. But one day he was driving with my DBTT in, and he comes up to me later and is like "Who is that band, they're pretty good"
HAHA
So, he's convinced to give him a try with an open mind. hahah
Ahhh the joys of Oasis brainwashing lol

My dad really likes Oasis, and had Morning Glory before I did. My mum doesn't, although she likes DLBIA and songs like that.

I thought this thread was going to be about Oasis fans BEING parents!! ha ha Nope, my parents are pretty old and dont like them at all.
I have a 15 year old daughter, though, who likes quite a few songs, but my 11 year old son really doesnt like them, which is ironic, since his name is Noel!!

My mum likes some songs, my dad has no clue about them. My younger sister (19) is a big fan. I hope I'll be able to brainwash my kids when I have some

Both my parents hate Liam's voice. Say it is too nasally. Even on WTSMG. I can't imagine what they would say now. They like Noel's voice though.

Jenny! That's a brilliant idea (the tables at your wedding)... Well now, I am a parent and I love Oasis and so do my girls. I'd say Oasis have kept us sweet as mum/daughters. We follow the news about the band, go to their gigs and we play their songs on the guitar together. Now my dad hated Oasis and my mum didn't much like them, but they've come to like their music because we've rather shoved it down their throats when we go visiting them. LOL My mum's favourite is TIOBI, but she keeps getting the title (maddeningly) wrong. She says 'Play the Ballad of the Lazy Man'

I remember reading a "reader letter" about how a this guy followed his wife around with a cd player making sure his son listened to Oasis, and apparently after the baby was born the baby always fell asleep to acoustic Oasis lol about the tables:) I had that planned for years! we acttually had the pianist at the cocktail play oasis songs...as we arrived in our 1967 rolls it was an awesome day...

they're sick of 'em. they've heard the same stuff since 1996- if they heard another oasis song, i think their heads might explode.
