Because of Noel's perceptions of the effects of drugs and alcohol on Be Here Now, he asked that SOTSOG be recorded sober. Bonehead didn't take to this, and allegedly knocked down the door of the producer's bedroom one night, pouring beer all over him. When Noel did the same thing to Bonehead, he left the band. Guigsy, on the other hand, had been considering leaving the band for a long time, and thought it would be best to leave then. That's what i think happened based on everything i have heard.

Don't know if Noel would've ever let those two contribute songs on future albums? I guess we'll never know either. Gem and Andy have done so much more for the band than those two ever did. Especially Gem.

i once read a quote of guigsy saying that he had been considering leaving the band already during be here now tour, he had done enough with this rockband thing life and was tired of it, and he was just waiting for the right moment to leave. So when bonehead left he thought that it was the approriate time to leave.
i really dont know about the bonehead situation was he kicked or did he leave voluntarily or what? theres different kinds of stories about it..

Bonehead left in early 1999 while Oasis where recording SOTSOG in France. Apparantley Bonehead broke the no alcohol rule and fell out with Noel. He was only officially announced as departed in August 1999. Guigsy followed a couple of weeks later. No mention as to why Guigsy left. He probably left Oasis has he felt he had gone as far as he can go with Oasis, and with Bonehead leaving he seemed a good time to go.
