So, when will the new record leak? To tell you the truth, I'm not waiting for that madness we had on this forum with all those non-contributed leachers on a Monday morning in April 2005!!!

honestly, I don't see it happening this time. Both noel and liam seemed pretty bent out of shape over it with DBTT and after they learned that they lost millions because of it, they became even less thrilled with the "accident". Of course this has nothing to do with the millions that will be illegally downloaded after its "official" release.

AMEN. and that's why i always thought it would be smart to have at least 50 posts before being able to access the S&V board. p.s. am i the only one who is planning not to listen to the leaks? i'm waiting to listen to it on my stereo at home right after i buy it!

I would love to be able to do that but I know I won't be able. Everyone around here will be talking about the new songs and it'll be impossible not to download it

I want to keep my self from hearing ANYTHING about the new record...what the songs are about, their length and such. But I know its not gonna happen it's just hard to resist sometimes. But I will definitely wait till I have the CD in my hands to listen to any songs.

I mean, I'm gonna read about the songs and everything like that. I can proudly say that the only Oasis song I've heard before its official release was Stop Crying Your Heart Out. I just had to listen to it, after hearing so much positive about it.

No, you're not the only one NYR. I didn't download when DBTT leaked and am gonna doing the same this time again. I will run to a local record shop to buy their new album at the day it comes out, go to home straight away, gonna sit in my room and listen to the whole album for the very first time while reading the booklet. Hey Jenny, didn't you know that not too bad to being old fashion at all?

The problem with waiting until release day and treating your virgin ears to the album is, at least in the case of DBTT, a lot of the promo stuff included parts of the songs, and so when you finally listen to the song you keep telling yourself, "ah, that sounds familiar..."
I think if you are to try to avoid the leaks, you should also try to avoid promo videos.

Wish I was strong enough to wait for the album...!! But the problem is that if Iwait for the album release here in Brazil, I'll have to wait more than a month from it's official release!! And that's torture!!!! i'll certainly buy it, but waiting all those months to hear, that's just to much for me..... I mean imagine if weeks before the release, Stop The Clocks leaks!! I'd have a heart attack just hearing peoplo talking 'bout how great it was!

I usually do listen to leaked tracks, but there is absolutely NO WAY I'm going to for this album. I don't think I've ever anticipated an album more than I have this one. I didn't really start to reach that Oasis fanatic stage til right after DBTT came out. I'll obviously listen to the first single, but I wanna really just sit back with a nice L and listen to the record start to finish...especially if it's got that psychedelic feel we've heard about

I think if you are to try to avoid the leaks, you should also try to avoid promo videos. Yeah, Lyla was a brown spot on hearing the album for the first time. So this time around I won't even listen the rock radio stations until I've heard it. Stop The Clocks had better not be leaked or singled pre-album. That's gonna be too much for me. I'd expect a big controversey over whether or not it pays to avoid hearing leaks. Got kinda bitter last time.

Of course this has nothing to do with the millions that will be illegally downloaded after its "official" release. Uh, wait a minute, they lost millions over the leak? Someone thinks there were millions of pounds lost on one Oasis album because of pre-release downloading? That many hordes of people on here and the Oasis DC++ hub? I have a hard time thinking there were that many downloads, even if there were, it's mostly from nerdy fans who couldn't live without buying it on the day of release anyway. Anyone have a quote on this? Somehow I'd be surprised if either of them actually believe it. And they were bent out of shape when someone (Alan White? ;D) leaked Heathen Chemistry but it didn't give them the savvy to protect the last album. What would they be doing differently now.

Yeah, I definitely do not think that at least 150,000 people on an earth populated with 6 billion+ illegally downloaded it before it was released, causing a loss of millions, good point. Further, I doubt that thousands upon thousands illegally downloaded the album with the full "intention" of buying it upon its "hard" release, then never "got around to it" This, even though research (google it, as I'm not going to waste my time) shows that "leaks" hammer album sales significantly harder than "normal" illegal d-loading (illegal d-loading of material that's available for hard purchase or legal d-load), as they do not even offer a legal alternative for fans to access. And if you think the only place people were downloading the album was the oasis dc++ hub, you're either terribly naive, ignorant, or both. I was on torrent sites that had 2-3000 SEEDERS (people who have already d-loaded data {in this case, music}and are making it available to others [just in case some are not familiar with the term]) alone at times. jesus. Make no mistake about it, music theft has irreparably hobbled the entire industry. Now its to the point where acts like radiohead have just "given up" and said fuck it. Thats called "innovative" for established millionaires, and dire for the relative unknowns who will never see the laughable "proposed" reality of either more people buying their music legally or attending their concerts (which, by the way, have seen ticket price increases of almost 60% in the last 5 yrs, thanks largely to decreased album sales). other than that, no effect/ \affect at all. All this stuff is just made up by the fat cats in the suits at the record companies anyway, so who cares?
