I strongly believe that Oasis and Arctic Monkeys are the only to main stream bands today who stand for the same thing.... Oasis published how they were the band of the people with songs like: -Cigarettes and Alcohol, -Rock n' Roll Star -Married With children. More recently Noel confirmed they are still the band of the people....with song like -The Importance of being idle and -Part Of The Que These songs lyrics speak for the frustration and shitiness of life on the dole during the ninety's. The ARCTIC MONKEYS have done the exact same except they talk about the early years of this century. -Listen to any of the songs from the album "Whatever People Say I Am Thats What I'm not" You will find that it is the DM of the 21st century...... Any arguements???...This'll raise alotta shit ;D

Well, they both play guitars and are both from England.
That's all I got. "Whatever People Say..." isn't even in the same league as Definitely Maybe.

totally agree, lyrically anyway. Alex Turner may even be a better lyricist. but yea they both sum up wot its like to be young.
