So my question is this: Do you think sony would leave off any songs on STC that went number one?l

if oasis pick the list, as the press release said, then they arent the type of guys to be picking tracklisting from a marketing point of view. remembering that they didnt want lyla to be the first single, but sony made them cos its typical oasis so would do well commercially, and the guys were not happy about that at all. so a song like all around the world, you can argue 'well its a good move because of the at & t ad' but i dont think they'd put it on because musically it isnt an oasis highlight, and cos noel despises it.
however, if the press release isnt quite true and sony has a hand in it, id expect to see all the singles that went number 1.

I wouldn’t be surprised if leaving off #1 singles is considered a “no brainer” in the record industry. Sony could probably have done whatever they wanted to with this album. If “Stop the Clocks” is on this cd, then Noel might have used it to negotiate. “We give you this track and you’ll allow us to do the track list”. I certainly don’t believe that Sony gives a shit about the fan base, or oasis for that matter. STC is for people who’ve never heard about oasis or who only owns MG. With a target group like that, why wouldn’t Sony try and make it as commercial as possible?
On a side note: anybody on this forum ever seen a “greatest” with number one singles left off?

So my question is this: Do you think sony would leave off any songs on STC that went number one?l It defies logic to leave any number 1 singles off a greatest hits album - simple as that. But who knows what'll happen. I'm not excited about the forthcoming album as its nothing new (apart from Stop the Clocks), no matter how much i love the band.

I could live without Some Might Say and All Around the World (unless they do some sort of remix of it that doesn't last for an hour, which would be fantastic).

'Course I have, Feck! I am talking an official thing here, though. Whic is not to in any way to disparage the medley combo, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
