On paper Barca and Chelsea wuld probly have the strongest, but thats the beauty of football, Even if you have all the best players you are not guarentee to win all the time. Usually the winners are the team who click as a "team", thats what makes football he best sport. The worst player on the squad can pop up in the last minute to score to knock out a team. Exactly. That's why the New York Yankees haven't won anything since they actually started believing they were unbeatable. Anyway, I started getting into soccer around the time of the 2002 World Cup. I don't really follow any certain team, I just like watching at this point. Another question, why is David Beckham so hated by some ? England only seems to win or play well when he plays. Anyway, it seems to me, David Beckhham plays the game with alot of fluidity. He makes passing especially, look effortless, it's art. Maybe he's not the fastest player but i'll take precision over speed anyday.

Beckham is a long one. Without a doubt one of the best passers of the ball i've ever seen. He's a Londener that played for Man United through all the ranks eventuall becoming a first team regular in the 95/96 season and earning the repuation of one of the best in the world. If you play for United you're either adored or hated coz you are a red. One of Englands outstanding players in the World Cup in France in 98 he flicked his leg out at an Argentina player and got sent off. England supporters blame Beckham for their exit from the World Cup and "The best chance since '66" to win the competition. After receiving threats to his family and facing the "boo braigde" at every away ground where supporters gave him abuse throughout the game he was infuncial in winning the Treble with United that season. After this his image kept growin especially as United expanded their marketing into the Far East and America beckham was the best well know player in the world. He was with United untill 2004 and joined Real MAdrid. The support still didn't fully forgive him even after scoring vital goals for england. A lot of hatred was aimed towards his Spice Girl wife Victoia. She seemed to be controlling him and being unhappy in Manchester. Becks fell out with United coash Ferguson - ad thats something you dont want to do and it was off to MAdrid it was. IMO: I think United sold Beckham at the right time, got loads of money from him, i think the image was bigger than the player and people still thought he was better then he was a few years previously. Then after not repating the success on the pitch as he'd had with United it was a big money move off to LA GAlaxy after Real made their money off his merchandising.

Cool. Thanks. From an americans standpoint. Beckham hasn't really changed much yet, anyway. But I will say him coming here was covered immensely by the american media. If he killed someone he'd probably win over the american audience alot faster. Who do you consider the best all-around player in the world right now ?

I'm loving Messi too, just too good!, he'd be my choice aswell
Other players that are well worth a mention are Ronaldo, United Winger - cn't do anyything wrong at the moment. Top scorer in England. Kaka, player of the year 2007, hasn't done too much this season with AC Milan.

Kaká and Cristiano Ronaldo are better than Messi IMO. those would be top 3 for me, and for FIFA and France football too. Messi has a problem with injuries, he's injured at least 2-3 months per season. his muscles break periodically. and he needs to be in phisically perfect to play as good as he can, while the other 2 don't

Alright. Who's considered the best all-around player ever? And explain please. Also, who's considered to be one of the best managers these days?

I don't dislike the Yankees but it seems like the Yankees always get guys that are on their last leg, or were good. And they seem to've just recently figured out developing players is alot cheaper and more profitable than just buying players. That's my main problem with the Yankees, they seem to think they can buy a championship, and as of the last couple years haven't done much in the postseason, let alone win the World Series. But i'm also a Cubs fan, they have a shitload of money too but never win, but supposedly 'this is the year'. Who do you pick to be in the World Series?
Also, I just like how Beckham plays the game, his movement, him kicking a ball is art. He makes it look effortless, and does so with precision. And like I said above, England seems to win when he plays, maybe him getting 'sent down' woke him up, also the other players seem to look to him for leadership, they seem lost without him.

I'm supporting Portugal. Well, if I'm honest, I'm supporting Ronaldo, and the shirt he's playing in just happens to be Portugal's.
Viva Ronaldo!

I'm a bit afraid of united in the semis. If we go through, that is.

I'm a bit afraid of united in the semis. Why wouldn't you be? We're the best team in the world, we have the best player in the world, and there's a good chance your own best player will miss the tie through injury. If we can't get the job done this year, I'm not sure we ever will.

England only seems to win or play well when he plays. i personally don't like him because he completely scammed america. a quarter of a billion dollars for a washed up player who was never clutch in the first place. all of a sudden, everyone was a soccer fan. up until they tried watching a match. ("where's all the scoring?" ) i don't think i hate him as much as i hate the people who were fooled by him. they call him the best in the world but don't even know who won the last world cup, let alone know who pele is. edit: and you're right about my yanks. they think they can just buy the championship without forming a real team.
