Bryan Robson Without doubt the best player for England during the 1980’s. He would put his head where others wouldn’t date put their feet. He played 90’s times for England (including 3 x World Cup Tournaments) and was captain for the majority.

Ronaldo. had he not injured his knee we would probably talking about one of the two best players ever. he was simply amazing and even today he continues to be one of the best players in the world

Ronaldo before his injuries did look like he'd be the greatest, already people are forgetting this and disrespecting him. My favourite players are Henry and Cantona; for their attitude more than anything. Players with a bit of flair and arrogance are the types I love.

I went to a chairty match a few years back in the NeuCamp for the suniami victims, it had the worlds best 25 players on the pitch (and Henri Camara randomly) so I'm spoilt for choice, saw Bergkamp play once, and he scored a belter

I think he was up there too. He was just incredible. Exactly. His numbers in PSV are scary. He is still the top scorer of the club and with a rate of 0,88 goal per valuable game. english.psv.nl/show?id=20263&personid=575

Nobody has mentioned George Best..
I've got a documentary about him on tape from the 80's... amazing player he could do things with the ball that other people can't even think about.
Out of more recent players i'd say Paolo Di Canio deserves an honourable mention too.
