why the fuck has everyone been saying that this is our best chance of winning the world cup?
im no footie pundit but to me, england havent done anything special. theyve struggled in all their games.
seems that in every game, we start of well then once second half comes, were hanging on for dear life waiting for that final whistle!

I'd say its the best team England have put out in a while although Eriksson has proper fucked it up with certain players he has chosen... I think they'll get the business done against the bigger teams, especially now Rooney is back. What a boost that is. As long as they're winning is the main thing, rather that than play brilliant attractive football and lose.
Wouldn't look at yesterdays result as something to be terribly concerned with. Wasn't a crucial match plus not all the main men were playing.

Just gonna underachieve yet again. o so true, every tournament they play in they say this is it, this is gona be the one, true england have some of the best players in the world, but as a team imo they are nothing else than ordinary and there is always an excuse prepared for when they do go out |

Support England, yeh go for it, but you can't deny they always underachieve to their hype, and so far their performances have not merited them as contenders.... that can't be denied even by the most avid of England fans |

In Portugal 2004 we had a perfectly legitimate goal disallowed against Portugal. As for this year the start has been average but thats been the same for brazil and i for one am not rulling them out so i don't see why people should rule England out either. |

personally i am happier we have not shone in group stage but ground out required results
better than a loada great performances with nowt to show
and look at the other power nations who have struggled
a LOT of great play 1st half last nite
lets hope the boys peak when we need it a la deutschland of old
im reasonably optimistic

all indiviual brilliant players but come upon the way spain or argies, or even holland and germany are playing at the mo you'll be ripped to shreads.
Underestimate Ecuador at your own pearl (even tho i think eng will win)
Every fucking touramnent, i sick of hearing, "This is England best chance since '66", the media/press is probally the biggest i get joy of watching England loose beside the fans who'll think they'll do it.

I thought that happened only in Spain ;D anyways, against Sweden they did great things. English team has the potential to do great things, like Brazil, Argentina, Germany, Italy, France and Spain. After all, this is a game and the results depend on how good the boys play that day and how lucky they are |
