One word…”Magical”. Oasis in Houston was all that and a bag of chips. I’m indeed grateful Oasis made up the canceled gig due to Rita last year. This is the 2nd time, I’ve seen the boys…first was – NYC, Madison Fuck’n Square Garden. That gig = “Monumental”. I went to the show with my friends, some new to Oasis and some “madferits”, we arrived at the Verizon around 6ish…a little line formed…I was about 40 or so back, so I knew we were going to get to the front. I have to say Verizon amphitheater wasn’t a bad venue at all; Hardrock being next door was an added bonus. We had a few beers on the way up to Houston and some waiting in line, which was nice. Around 7ish…I think they ready the doors, at this time my heart is racing feverishly. I am excited! My buds and me get situated dead center. The venue is perfect…nice, cozy and intimate. The Redwalls was not bad at all, cool looking dudes, played well, nice tunes and very polite. Redwalls played a 30 minute set. I am 28, been a fan for some time now, and I was very surprised at the youth around me. This is crazy? I was expecting a “Grateful Dead” crowd, (being funny) but you know what I mean. There is a chance with our youth yet…listening to Oasis is a start. Moving on…lights go out, I’m about 5ft or so from the barriers. Fn in the bushes start…the place goes crazy. I’m on the freaking floor watching Oasis…”magical”. My voice is gone from singing (keeping my day job, btw) all 90+ minutes…Liam sported a red shirt with a blazer and his “pimp” hat. We were yelling that all night. “Liam’s a fucken Pimp”. My buddy was the one yelling out “Magic Pie”…and to our surprise…Noel goes “who keeps shouting Magic Pie?” my friend almost fainted. I hope there was a boot of this gig. After “Idle” Noel looks to the band says something to Zach, then says something…like ok here’s “Magic Pie”, of course he doesn’t play it…I’ll take “Masterplan” any day of the week. My buddy was just happy, Noel heard him. Gig was a whirlwind…ended as soon as it begun. Supersonic returned…Noel was feeling it; I was just spent, now. Supersonic was amazing…complete ecstasy for me…Zach came in and launched into the drums for a good 40seconds…Chief strapped his guitar over his shoulder…did his patent Noel “streak” (not too knowledgeable about guitars, but you guys know)…then the rest of the band came on stage, Liam shouted something, but we couldn’t hear. The whole gig from where I was at was huge sing-along. This will be memorable, met and made some new, madferits. Peace and yes…Houston has some “fit birds”, Liam.
