ok, so i realize that cool people post things like reviews, pictures, and news -- but i'm really just looking for an outlet to describe how damn excited i am about seeing the band sunday night! it's been five years since i saw them last at the santa barbara bowl in california with the black crowes. it's hard to believe it's been that long. and i realize for them it's another city and another set and another crowd and another interview and another another, but i hope they still get the chills right before the first riff. my God, i'm 27 and still following my favorite band that i discovered in high school. it's weird to think their music has had this kind of effect on me for nearly 12 years. sometimes i think i'm a freaking weirdo. but damnit, when the opening drums to live forever start and the chorus of lyla blars loud, i'm going to be in touch with my youth and feeling alive baby. maybe that's what music is just supposed to do. no, that IS what music is supposed to do. i think one of them said that they write songs to put your arm around your best friend, drink beer, and sing loud. well, the best friend will be my wife, i will have been drinking, and you can bet your ass, i will be singing loud. i also apologize for being drunk on coors and writing nonsense on a friday night before oasis concert eve. it's official, i'm a friggin dork. thanks for listening!
