The show wasn't bad — I've seen better Oasis shows, but this one had its moments. I sort of agree with something the guy from the Indy Star said: it seemed to take them a little while to really get into it. Liam's voice was pretty ragged, though a lot of that gets sort of lost in the mix and the spectacle when you're actually in the audience. The set held no real surprises. Liam screwed up the lyrics to "Lyla" and actually uttered a brief, mush-mouthed, off-hand apology afterwards. Despite Liam's voice not sounding its best, they probably did one of the best versions of "Wonderwall" I've actually heard from them — usually, when the whole band plays it, that song is either too fast or too slow, and usually too loud. The tempo and the volume seemed just right this time. "Live Forever," though, didn't quite do it for me. In fact, after seeing this concert, I'm a little less enthusiastic about the propect of Zak joining the band. He may be a good session drummer, and did some interesting things on DBTT that helped the band sound a little different, but live, Oasis needs a drummer that can really push them. Otherwise, they seem to want to fall back into a sort of mid-tempo plod which can lack a little energy (if "Turn Up the Sun" hadn't been the opener, it would have killed the set). Noel was in very good form. No one seemed to be having much fun on stage (except for Gem, who actually smiled during "Don't Look Back In Anger), but Noel and Liam did talk to the audience a little bit.
Overall, the concert had 4 things which always remind me of why I like Oasis: 1.) The first 20 seconds when they come on stage to "F@*ckin' in the Bushes," and Liam, expressionless, stares out at the audience like a primate thinking of launching a big goober 2.) The descending chords right before "Acquiesce" kicks into the chorus 3.) "Rock N' Roll Star" 4.) The whole audience singing along at the top of their lungs to every single word of "Don't Look Back In Anger"
Just my opinion. Not the best performance I've seen from them, but I'd probably make the trip again tonight if I had the option. Of course, maybe someone else out there thought they stunk. I don't know.

It was the best nite of my life (will see how it goes in cincinnati) !!! That was my second time ive seen them live (1st was in chicago 2005) (well ive watched all the available bootlegs too ) this show was something amazing. probably cuz i was not expecting anything as good as it was. like hearing how liams voice was turning bad and stuff... after this show i think his voice is fucking amazing, perfect, and strong, he is the best singer ever!!! they seemed to enjoy this gig alot, they talked to the crowd a little bit more than just a little bit, at least more than usual it was an amazing show, could not expect anything better!!! it was just as good as it gets.... its just my opinion, and im still fucking MAD FER IT!!!!!! live forever oasis!!!!

They were particularly talkative and animated for the Indy show... which was really nice to see. Only Liam can pull off sweating all the way through a sportcoat... he was incredible. I was right being the big titty bitch that got the tamborine and her rich boyfriend, but he shook my hand when he came out during fuckin in the bushes because I had on my city shirt.
Noel made a remark about the president being in town tomorrow (today), said he thought Bush was an idiot, which got a few claps but I don't think most people up front really understood what he was saying as loud as it was. Liam dedicated a song to Noel (CS?), then Noel turned around and dedicated it back to Liam, they called each other vaginas... it was great to see them at it again ;D
I thought it was a great time, and a much better show than the Indy Star (Gannett-owned right wing rag -- probably left when Noel made the comment about Bush) made it seem. The crowd was all into it, as they should have been in such a small venue. The band really seemed to be enjoying the show too... much more even than at Toronto

i was second row. indy was quality. better than milwaukee. yes, liam screwed up lyla ... but when you do ONE YEAR of straight touring, it happens. the band members all laughed their asses off when he screwed up.
noel was in great spirits, he stuck out his tongue at me when i took a piccie of him. and liam and noel were laughing and joking during a couple songs, a real rarity. it was much better than milwaukee ... i think there was a bit of a toronto hangover there.
the reviewers of the shows in the papers are meaningless. they dont know the band AT ALL. the ppl on this board have been to dozens of shows and know the real deal.
also, i dont understand all the current slagging on zak. its bullshit, he's got GREAT energy. he doesnt have the artistic ability of alan, but he brings a power surge that the band needs - i think the criticism is completely baseless. he's a great addition.

Zak can do no wrong by me...A great bloke in general and he seems to inject a bit of sanity into the band.

Hands down, the funniest description of Liam onstage I've read in here!
