I would just like to say that whomever thought that this Oasis show was the cat's meow is an absolute Oasis rookie. This Toronto show was my 24th Oasis show, and I must say, it maybe their worst performance that I, the Big Muff, have witnessed. Turn Up The Sun started before f'n in the bushes ended, Liam was off key (which I normally love, but not at this level) for the first four songs, the guitar mix was WAY off (barely hearing Gem, but Noel's solos at an obnoxious level), Zak played WAY WAY WAY too much by turning every opportunity into a solo, and Liam walked away before finishing the last line of just about every verse.
I rank this as maybe their weakest show. All the highlights were Noel's songs IOBI and Masterpln in particular. Liam did get it right with A bell Will Ring and Champagne Supernova, but he was more off than on.
Get with the fucking program people. This band is my religion, and even at that level you have to be objective enough to call a spade a spade. It was good for what it was, but the performance was sub-par.
live forever

i guess since you have been to so many shows you are eligible to say which shows are good and which aren't.
but if i'm going to go see a band (especially knowing oasis' live history) i'm not going to worry about technical details. If i wanted a perfect live performance i'd just put on a dvd and watch that.

He does have a point although "to each his own" as well. I've been to 13 oasis gigs since 1996...There are some bad eggs in there somewhere and I wouldn't hesitate to call it a bad show if it really was (i.e, Philly 6/05).

To an extent I do agree with herecomesthenice. I thought Zak was very sloppy at times, for example Mucky Fingers, seemed like he just gave up, didn't give as much effort as he did back in June. But the band, just seemed kind of tired to me. Maybe it's all the touring, I don't know. But there were some sound issues, it definitely showed when A Bell Will Ring was performed. You could barely hear Gem's opening riff, all you could hear is Noel's guitar. Ultimately, I think the concert back in June was better. Just because, it was at the beginning of the tour and because in my opinion it was a better setlist.

I respectfully disagree. I was aware of some sound issues, but I think it was a great performance and I had a fantastic time. To be honest the sound didn't bother me at all, I didn't even think Noel was too low in the mix, but a lot of people seem to be complaining about that. I thought Liam was entertaining, much more than he was in June at the Amphitheatre. Noel talked a fair bit, ie before the Masterplan and DLBIA. Plus lots of other special moments made this gig especially enjoyable for me. But if I'd been to that many shows I'd probably not have ranked this one so high; it was only my 4th time so I have little to compare them to other than the loads of bootlegs I've seen. If you've seen them that many times, then you must have seen them earlier in the 90s and I think a lot of those gigs would undoubtedly have been their best.
My only complaint is that I knew the setlist in advance, wish they'd change it. I guess I can blame that on myself for reading it online all the time, but then again maybe not, seeing as they played a solid 90% or so of the same material as June, which is kind of crummy for the casual fans as well who went to both shows not aware of the setlist.

I wasn't trying to slander anyone's good time with that post. It doesnt matter how many times you've seen Oasis, every concert is a great and memorable time; I was talking pure performance and not experience. The tightest I've ever seen them was Detroit of 99 for the radio show. Andy and Gem's second gig. They were probably the tightest I've ever seen, plus they really really seemed to care. Gem was quoted about the amount they practiced before that gig, so maybe that's the key.
Maybe their messing about with the mix and solos and what not is just a form of bordem. I know if I had to play Cigs & Alc, Live Forever, and Supersonic at just about every gig since 1994, I'd be a bit sick of those tunes also! I think it is definitely time to retire a few from the setlist for the next couple tours.
The reason I've been to so many shows is that you never know what show will be their last. Plus, I had an all access pass to 2 tours (SOTSOG and Brotherly Love) so I travelled the entire east coast. I'd give a limb for another all access pass, but despite my never ending efforts, that doesnt seem in the cards any longer.
Any bets there will be at least 2 or 3 songs from Be Herre Now on next tour's set?
rock on.

well, that's your opinion... but some of us just like having a few beers and rocking out... we're not listening to guitar mix and judging Starkey's drum fills... this isnt a studio album, it's a concert.... This was my fifth show, and by far the best... mind you I was in 9th row.... Liam put on a good show, and the set-list(althou we knew it) was very good... each his own i guess... maybe you were in a bad mood that night... but c'mon "Turn Up The Sun started before f'n in the bushes ended"... that's just petty... EDIT: you had all access passes!?! figures you thought this show sucked in comparison! hmm... I said it in ACL and i'll say it again when i see em in México: Oasis, considered one of the best bands EVER, they've sold millions of records and played in front of millions of people. They've been around in the mainstream for over a decade now, that's more than 10 years of extensive touring. So how could you explain that the self claimed best band in the world has awful sound problems in 2 out of 3 shows. I'm, sorry but to be the best you have to sound like the best, and play like the best. With all due respect I hope next time you drink less beers and realise that you paid money to see a band who don't care for giving you the best night of your life. It's not a studio album, but the little details DO count. Zak wasn't playing right? At least I hope this time his drumkit wasn't out of tune.

SONY MUSIC CONTROLLING OASIS TOURS SUCKS Hey, well I have to say that I haven't seen them before. But I will see them in mexico. Seriously ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿what could be bad in the last gig of a 12 month tour!!!!!!!! ?? Well I guess that oasis should stop worring about going to the states avery month. I hate that the people there(in the US or Canada) usually have the greates bands playing at some cities that really hwo gives a sh...t about. I'm not sying that Toronto is not a big city but man it just seems pointless to play every city in America and Canada. I think oasis should've finished this tour earlier, this is my opinion. Note: I'm not saying I hate US or Canada. Its just pointless to play so many cities as if they were a town band or a fuckinn DJ This band is something o be proud of and I really hope they'll play well at Mexico who's goin'?

Excellent point(s) luv...I suppose, fans are split into 2 categories when it comes to live gigs: The ones who show up and are just ecstatic to be there and the ones who are more critical. I fall in the 2nd category...I always love being there (dont get me wrong) but, I definitely notice these subtle "errors"(?). Besides, I never get shitefaced at OASIS gigs...It's pointless coz I want to be able to remember the fookin experience and not just a haze the next day. For me, oasis is best experienced sober! ;D

Didn't mean to sound nasty, sometimes it happens when trying to make a point. Still, it's me getting nasty because The Strokes sound better than Oasis (don't get me wrong, I love The Strokes), nothing against anybody in this beautiful forum...

They rocked in Atlanta so I don't give a toss!!!
I just saw Aerosmith and it was awful.
Access passes, 24 shows, what were the odds that you wouldn't like that particular show? 50/50
Who the hell wants to go to a show and be critical? That's for 'rock critics'. A lot of them (Toronto Sun being one) thought the show was great.

well i was 6th row centre . . . it was my 5th time seeing them (the 2nd for this tour...boston) and me and the mrs had a great time..
agreed ... maybe noels guitar was a bit louder than gems.... and maybe zak couldve done a bit better... but at the end of the day, oasis are a top notch live rock and roll band period....
bring on the next tour!!! it may be awhile lol
ps. how about the girls that got to go onstage at the end of MY GEN? how retarted was that? lmao did you see the look on NOels face when they tried to touch his guitar? that alone was worth the price of admission.... cheers.

Who the hell wants to go to a show and be critical? That's for 'rock critics'. A lot of them (Toronto Sun being one) thought the show was great. Some people just have different standards. You said yourself that u thought the Aerosmith show sucked...That means in your opinion they did. Different people just have varying levels of expectations when they go to shows (as is proven in this here little thread). Some of us just expect more is all.
