Aldo it's not officially on the website yet (www.pinkpop.nl) it's more then likely that Richard Ashcroft will play with the full band on Pinkpop 2006. Richard Ashcroft played in Amsterdam's "Paradiso" (A place Oasis once played as well in the early days), and gave his YES to the organisation of the festival. The organisation likes to keep this fact about their line up secret for a bit longer, but via very trusted sources the fact leaked out. For example www.festivalinfo.nl already shows this on their website. www.festivalinfo.nl/festival_detail.php?festival_id=3568 A anonymous spokeswoman of a Dutch Entertainment company also confirmed this fact: "The Richard Ashcroft tour management already was in negotiation with the Pinkpop organisation, and last Tuesday when Richard and his management were down in Amsterdam they came to a agreement with the organisation. Most likely he plays on the 3FM festival stage on the second day of the 3-day festival. Richard is looking forward to do some great stuff. " Same spokeswoman said the Pinkpop organisation is trying to do their best to have Oasis in their 2006 bandline up as well. Progress has been made, and it's likely that the fact will be confirmed within a month. "After their gig in the Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall, Oasis showed they still have a huge number of fans in The Netherlands, and finally has won the honorary name of "classic rock band" in this country. After years of negative oppinions about the band in the Dutch press and musicfans, they somehow have proved their magic. The Pinkpop organsiation want to have Oasis as one of the topbands on the closing-day of the festival, maybe as one of the closing acts. The organisation is still in negotiation with the tour management. Money does not seem the problem anymore, they already have a agreement about that, they now are talking about the practical problems that need to be solved. They are in the final part of negotiating. We expect the confirment within 4 or 5 weeks".Some other great bands that are confirmed for the Pinkpop 2006 festival: - Franz Ferdinand - Kaiser Chiefs - Keane - Placebo - Red Hot Chili Peppers - Skin (ex- Skunk Anansie) - Racoon (great upcoming band) Look promessing right ?

When at to who did this spokesman say this? Ashcroft sounds believable, but Oasis at Pinkpop? Oasis did play at Pinkpop once, 10.06.2000 without Noel and at Lowlands too (in 1994), so why they wouldn't?

hmmz that's right. Ashcroft will come and play, without a doubt! Oasis ... I dunno. On one hand they might not wanna break there vacation period, on the other hand, they played at Glastonbury as well when they had their period of writing songs and stuff ... so why not? I believe this spokeswoman is quet close to the truth. We'll see. At least we can hope.
