it was over 800.000 like a month ago. it should be getting near 900.000 which is 3*platinum. they should've released a fourth single. there were a lot of songs that would've made a very good single

wow......it seems like Oasis would have sol a lot.....i mean this album was well hyped even here in the states....and they backed they largest tour ever......what amazes me is how Heathen Chemistry sold more copies, i barely even heard about it when it came out here....a lot more effort and promotion into this album....i still feel it sold like 2 million

I think that 874,000 copies was just UK. I think it sold around 200,000 in U.S. and who knows the rest of the world.
Most people still buy albums b/c of hype from a previous album and of course hit singles.
If Wonderwall was on SOTSOG it would have sold at least 3million in U.S. alone.
Wonderwall & Champagne Supernova made MG sell 4.5 million in U.S. alone.
Another HIT single would help. Let there Be love just didn't do it.

LTBL had a terrible video, the single edit was very bad and it got absolutely no hype. that's why it didn't do it

agreed. the video was so boring and didnt suit the song. a good video can do a lot of difference, cant replace the song - but can get attention and make people listen

HC was a much more radio friendly album than Don't Believe The Truth. I would expect it to sell more, in the course of time... I mean....who's going to be singing Lyla or TOBI in 3 years? Not many. But almost everyone in the UK still knows SCYHO and LBL, I bet.

DBTT is on around 180,000 in the usa compared to 143,000 for HC in the usa.

Wikipedia is 'decent' but remember it is a public run sight so facts can be misleading.
840,000 sounds about right. When it hits 900,000 in UK it will be 3 times platinum. I believe DBTT will continue to sell over time as it is a grower and consistant album. HC sold b/c it's Oasis #1, but the singles helped it even more. I doubt that HC will be a continous seller. DBTT will. Another single would help but I don't see that coming.
Oasis hasn't broken 4x platinum since BHN. Those days may be gone unless they have a strong singles album but Noel is getting older and I don't see those poppy songs that the entire public likes anymore. Which is fine w/ me.
DBTT is awesome.

Totally agreed. It´s fuckin shame that here in Finland DBTT didn´t get in top 40

Wikipedia is usually inaccurate. It's ppl like us posting info. Unless it's an industry person, the figures are complete guesswork.
I have to believe DBTT is well over one million, after Xmas.
I hope LTBL is a lesson to Oasis' management. A complete mailed-in video and the band not playing the song on tour is obviously a great way to get people to ignore a single.

agreed. ltbl was like half a single, even though its a fantastic song other factors brought it down and its like only having two and a half singles to promote an album.

someone posted that ot sold 858.000 copies in 2005... it's probably very close to 3*platinum if that was true

someone asked about worldwide figures....in a Straits Times article (main national newspaper in singapore, so likely to believe their stats) said that DBTT sold 2.5million worldwide
is that good? sounds pretty good to me but i dont know how that compares to HC or to other bands and stuff.

Agreed LTBL should not have been a single. Why not go with KTDA, LTAB anything other than LTBL, its too oasis by numbers and gives fuel to the peole who say oasis just do lazy ballady anthems..
