I live in Cincinnati and I think it's a fairly boring town. Indy is a cool city, I'd hang out there the extra day if you can. Heck, I'm going to both shows and I'm thinking about staying in Indy on that Friday instead of coming right back home. If you're a sports fan, the Pacers play on that Friday, might be worth checking out. If not, there are plenty of cool places to hang out in downtown Indianapolis.
If you do spend the extra day in Cincinnati, there's more to do across the river in Northern Kentucky than in downtown Cincinnati.

Mount Adams in Cincy is cool. N. Ky has got some great spots to eat. What are Indy's hot spots?

Bar-hopping you'll want to go to Broad Ripple, theres a few good sports bars downtown and a few good restaraunts, but nothing too terribly special. The Vapor Lounge is the place to be seen, but I'm more into whatever sports bars are around the block from the Murat (of which there's plenty).
