Hey there...I'm new here, first off.
I have a question. Does anyone thing that additional U.S. tour dates will be added to the spring tour? I live in northern Minnesota and my wife and I travelled to Chicago (about 10 hours) to see the band last year. I was excited to find out they are coming back to the states this year, but all of the venues are pretty far for us. We are trying to decide if it would be worth it to get tickets now and plan a big, annoying trip to Indianapolis or Milwaukee or wait to see if they play somewhere more convenient.
Thanks

welcome to the forum, please keep an eye out on the DBTT for tour announcements. We will generally post them a few weeks before they are officially announced . at the moment this is what we know :
NORTH AMERICA 2006 20 March, 2006 Toronto, Canada, Air Canada Center 22 March, 2006 Milwaukee, United States, Riverside Theatre 23 March, 2006 Indianapolis, United States, Murat Theatre 25 March, 2006 Cincinnati, United States, Taft Theatre 26 March, 2006 Nashville, United States, Ryman Auditorium 28 March, 2006 Houston, United States, Verizon Wireless Theater

Yeah... I'd say it's extremely unlikely they'll be any closer to you, except for the fact there was a rumor of a Minneapolis show last year that I don't think ever happened

I would have thought Minnesota(if it happened) would be after Toronto, but for that to happen they'd have to play 4 consecutive nights which would not happen. I'd prepare for a road trip. I'm doing Indy, Cincy and Nashville. All 3 cities are pretty close.

Thanks for the replies.
Yeah...Minneapolis would be ideal, but I agree that it's pretty unlikely with the direction that the tour seems to be heading. I'm just worried more that we'll buy tickets to a show in a dull city like Milwaukee or Indy (sorry to anyone who lives in either place), put a ton of money and time into travelling, hotels, etc...and then they end up going to a town that we would have a good time in anyway. The wife and I were sort of planning a trip to Orlando, FL in the spring to do cheesy touristy stuff. Then we found out that the boys were coming back to the states. It's a really quandry, you know?

I still think Miami is a possibility based on what me and other forum members were told. Possibly after SA, they'd hit Florida. God willing pass through NY on the way up to Toronto and then work their way back down.

God willing pass through NY on the way up to Toronto and then work their way back down. I'd say there's a very good chance that might happen. I was all set to go to the Toronto gig but after someone pointed out to me that they have a huge gap b4 Toronto so there's a high possibility of NYC, I decided to wait this one out. Besides, I'd be missing 2 days of school if I go and I can't seem to get a car to take me there! *sigh* rant over.

Same here, I'm taking my chances on a NYC or Boston show. If it ends up that they don't play anything closer to me, then I may make arrangements to go Toronto.

I've been hearing about another House of Blues show in NJ and a NYC and a Miami show. BUT, I heard Zak Starkey has commitments of touring for the who in 2006 so wouldn't it cut down on their tour dates?

I don't think Starkey would do anything with The Who before March 31st when Oasis end their tour. Any dates that are added would more than likely be before the Toronto show.

The big question for me is if the tour will go past March 31. Doesn't seem likely.
There's no time for Zak to do anything but Oasis until then, no doubt.
I think we'll be hearing about the additional dates next week.
Where did you get the HOB rumors? Makes sense.

Check Ticketmaster. There are still tickets left for the ACC show, tho Oasisinet is claiming a sellout. Needless to say, I'm sure it's close and will easily be sold out by show time.

HOB.ca and Oasisinet say sell out, but they are still selling obstructed view seats and side seating. Most shows are never completely sold out, Ticketmaster always opens up new batches of seats closer to the show date. Usually behind the stage and seats that are opened after the stage is set etc.

I've been hearing about another House of Blues show in NJ. That show last year was bleak...The band was great...It was the venue that I had a problem with. First of, they confiscated all cameras and kicked u out of the place if u refused (note that it never said on the ticket "No Cams"). Second, I thought it was too small for a huge name like OASIS to play. Last, its NJ.

I doubt Oasis would go back to HOB in A.C. I personally had a good time there. We were right up front and had a great waitress who fought her way up to us repeatedly with drinks. Although they forgot to give out wristbands when the first rush got in, so that screwed some people.
That's all beside the point. It was a tiny venue and it wasn't even sold out. That's why I doubt they'd head back there this tour. I do love seeing Oasis in intimate venues like that though. That along with The Joint in Vegas a few years back will go down as 2 of my favourite gigs.

Hey...before I ask my question here, I just wanna point out that you guys and this board kick a whole lotta ass. I mentioned I'm new here at the beginning of the thread, and I am new fan as well (I'm 30 years old and I just started getting into the boys about a month before DBTT came out...sad huh? My wife has been a fan since Definately Maybe, though). Anyway, I'm rambling. It's the beer.
Which brings me to my new question. Last year we drove to Chicago to see Oasis for the first time (one of the top 3 shows I've ever been to). The only issue I had was the arena they played didn't allow alchohol. It was on the UNC campus and apparently they have a no booze policy. This was a real kick in the pants, especially for my wife who has wanted to "get drunk and go to an Oasis show" since she was 20. We just bought tix to the Indy show. Is there booze there?

I'm certain they'll have booze. Chicago would have upset me. I need at least a beer or 2 during a set to raise up in the air to em.

They pulled like 2 blokes behind me because of the camera thing. They made me deposit mine at coat check after they spotted me taking pix of Kasabian. Mother Fuckers.

There is most certainly alcohol. If the venue isn't on a college campus (or in Utah), you can pretty much count on it. There's enough bars within walking distance too for a little pre/post piss-up too -- I'll let y'all know where I plan to be when we decide, if anyone wants to meet up.

It says they are ending in Mexico City on March 31.
They play Chile on March 12 and play Toronto on March 20, so unless they plan on playing say the 15-18 somewhere in the U.S., I believe that's it.
No Miami, New York etc.
INET says they are concluding their tour by playing Mexico City on the 31st. I take that as their last gig of this tour, unless they were using the word 'concluding' as just 'including' in the final shows etc.....

yeah, just some wishful thinking on my part. I checked the Orpheum site, and they have that weekend open. I'd be shocked if there was no NYC show though
