It's so frustrating that Oasis (management most likely) won't announce their exact tour dates for the U.S. except for 1 a month or so.
There's no way Oasis would fly to U.S. with all it's support and equipment to do 4-5 shows in mid level markets.
I am sure they all know what cities they are playing, just ANNOUNCE IT!!!!
Don't want to book a hotel and flight to some city when I find out a month later they are really coming closer.
The promotion for this album is over. No more singles (especially in U.S.) so just make the tour announcements already!!!
My rant is over!!!!

i dont think there's any doubt that they are trying to max out sales by not announcing the shows all together. so people will buy tix to more than one show.
that said, i think it sucks.

Do you guys know what goes into putting a tour together? They've got to negotiate contracts with the promoters, find venues in each city to accomodate their size that aren't already booked for Coldplay, a basketball game, a play, or otherwise, book hotels, find a catering service, make sure they can book flights or get their bus to drive that far. On top of that, they may just be going back and forth about how much rest they will all need that late in a tour in between shows. Let's say they want to play Chicago one day, but all the venues they wanted to play that day are booked, and they wanted to go their after playing Cleveland. Well, they want to still do both shows but it makes no sense to go from Cleveland to Houston back to Chicago. In that respect, they then have to see if they might be able to book the Cleveland show on a different day. Thus, it's not just to maximize ticket sales. Someone has already pointed out that they're holding multiple dates in Minnesota, which to me means they're having trouble getting exact dates at the other venues they want.

I've been a little frustrated by trying to make all my travel arrangements aswell. But the above comment is spot on. Not to mention there's radio stations that are involved in presenting the shows, and they have contests and pre-sales etc that they need to co-ordinate. I don't think they're intentionally trying to get people to fly from New York to Milwaukee to see a show by holding off on announcing a NY show or something.

dont disagree it is a tough logistic situation, but why then does u2 and most other large acts announce 95% of their shows in advance? mainly b/c a sell out or close to it for every show is assured.
i think oasis' biggest problem in this case is not knowing what they will draw. the 2 new york shows were a great example. and also the fact that they drew very well on the first east coast leg but the crowds on the west coast, in similar venues, were much smaller. so its very tough with them.

They were much smaller? i was under the impression they did great on the west coast, particularly in the Hollywood Bowl. The Across The Narrows show seems to not have suffered because of Oasis but rather because of piss poor promotion.

i was at the everett, wa show and the arena was half-empty. the entire upper deck was blocked off. the san diego attendance was also underwhelming. the h-bowl was basically sold out, but it was announced well in advance of the other west coast shows, so im sure it was a regional crowd to an extent (who didn't know if there would be any other shows nearby). and of course la has a huge population and they were doing just one show there.

i flew all the way down to sydney to see them in november because i thought it would be the only way i'd ever get to see them live, and now they are coming to singapore =S
i dont think its got anything to do with the logisitcs of organising the tour...it must be a logisital nightmare but you still have to organise it either way. im inclined to think they play the most obvious places and cities and then go to the more obscure places or play again in well recieved cities. cos yeah, i think oasis are a bit unsure about their draw in places like singapore which is fair enough and would want to wait and see how the album has been recieved and stuff to see if its worth coming over
