Nashville is an awesome city... I'm just having a hard time picturing 2,500 Oasis fans at the mother church of country music, but hey... that and I'm afraid for Music Row... we definitely don't fit in there... ulness you like a bit of real country - Americana if you will, or alt. country...
there's an awesome place called Roberts on music row, it's got REAL awesome country, like 50's Johnny Cash country. all ages go there, it's an awesome place...
The country music hall of fame is cool too!

Oasis in Nashville will be smoking. Sounds like a nice small place. Funny that tickets for Cinci OH don't sell until 1/21/06. I'll be there too. Saw them in Detroit and Cleveland. Brilliant. Also seeing them in Florence and Rome Italy Feb 6 and 7 thanks to frequent flyer miles. I guess I'm mad fer it.

Not just a nice small place, the Ryman is the best venue in the WORLD hands down.

Any other fans on here live in Nashville? I've always wanted them to play here... but they've never come close...
My friends mom works at the Ryman, she can get me tickets to most anything there, but she told me that a large amount of the tickets for this show are being held by Sony, which has big offices in Nashville... that sucks, and it explains how it sold out really quickly.
Apparently a lot of the best seats on the floor - 1st 10 rows could be corporate ppl... hope not

Does anyone have any advice on how to score tix without spending an arm and a leg scalping? I made the horrible mistake of thinking that these tix went on sale next week.
I've always wanted to try this but I never have. A few years ago, U2 came through Atlanta and a friend of mine didn't have any tix. He waited till the day of the show and called the box office to see if anyone had canceled their reserved seats. Turns out he landed 2nd row center about an hour before the band went on stage.
Anyways, can anyone help with some advice?

The problem w/Ryman is a lot of these seats have been given to music industry ppl because there are so many in Nashville... u may have a hard time

The major difference with U2 is that they were playing an arena. The tickets that were released before the show were more than likely production seats and not cancellations. Once they set the stage and lighting they add seats for most shows. Where as Ryman probably has the exact same seating for every show. I doubt many seats will be released if any at all. I'd keep an eye on Ebay and be willing to pay a bit over face value.

Nashville is one of the coolest places on earth, trust me I live here... I've been to many many places, but this place has just got a cool vibe...
If you come here with the attitude that it's a bunch of country rednecks you probably won't have a good time... however if you're a true fan of music, and you appreciate the history and deep musical scene here, one that shaped all of music as we know it - including Rock N Roll... you'll have a great time.
There are a ton of really cool little places to party, get a drink, see a band and eat here. I'll post some suggestions when I have time after finals...
If people do want to have a meetup, I know some good places... that are all ages for those of you under 21
