Does anyone have any idea what is happening with Noel? He was very quiet when we saw him in Brisbane and i have since read that he has been the same in Sydney.

He's been doing that most of the tour, especially in the U.S. Sounds like he's only happy when he's in Europe. Hopefully he'll be better for S.A.

Yeah, man, it just doesnt seem as if Noels really as mad for it as Liam still is. I mean I saw them on 4 gigs out here in Cali and in only 1 gig (Hollywood bowl) he seems to be slightly up for it. I just dont think hes down with being up on stage anymore.....................

Probably mad at liam as the tabloids suggest. Whenever I have seen him live this year (toronto and boston and live edge show!) or on videos he seems in to it! He IS getting up there in age and they have been touring for half a year.....most definately will have some off nights!

yeah both sydney shows he was grumpy, bored and un-interested. you would have thought gem was the frontman (apart from liam you know what i mean). even when i asked noel this morning to sign the album, he was really reluctant and rude.

I think Noel has had his fill for Oasis. I think he's afraid to stop Oasis.
However, I think if Noel went solo it'd be magical. I do think Oasis prevents Noel from further developing as a songwriter.
In interviews, he seems to sort of be cynical with Oasis. He seems to not really care to grow. He's often refered to Oasis as a project. He said before about a solo album "before I can do it its time to do Oasis again" Like i t's just a part of him, not his main focus.

I think Noel's just... subdued. I saw them in MK and in Denver and both nights he was hillarious between songs...he's never been the type to jump around on stage....but this tour Liam is finally getting enthusiastic again, and so it just makes Noel look less interested. He hasn't changed, Liam has.

Noel is hit and miss. It's a bummer for fans who only see one gig, but there have been some high points, and the last European swing was obviously a high point.
This stuff only contributes to the mystery that is Oasis.
Also, I think Noel might be going thru some personal stuff as well. He made mention of that recently in an interview, a veiled mention of his personal life being upside down.

He made a lot of digs about the Aussies and dedicating Don't Look Back In Anger to anyone not British (after we win the World Cup!!) Also dedicated Aquiescce to the English (we need one another, we belong to one another maybe fed up with th digs the aussies and the American give oasis?)
I also heard in an interview recently that his personal life was a mess and oasis was the one constant which held things together for him (I think words to that effect)

He's definately not as lively on stage anymore... However, I think his playing is better, and I think his voice is WAY better than it used to be. Where Liams singing has declined, Noel's has picked up. It's just not a loud-rock sort of voice. He was pretty funny in Toronto in June - going on about people throwing CDs on the stage hoping to get a record deal... He wasn't as lively in Madrid, but seemed like he was having fun... Liam on the otherhand looks like he's having a blast on this tour..

All this talk gets me well nervous about what Noel might end up doin.
I'd ve fuckin devastated if Oasis split up, even if they did go solo. It just wouldnt be the same

oh come on, they won't split...remember all the times someone quit the tour etc. and plans about the next album, The Boy With The Blues. Splitting? Inpossible. Noel's just probably tired of touring. But yeah, he's not madferit anymore I guess But it's gonna be OK.

I went Manchester on the 2nd July and Noel was fine until bring it on down and him and Liam had words during the song and that was it, Noel hardly spoke head down and that was it. They should tour over two years and give themselves a break in between. Liam's voice would be far better as well then.
Another reason is that its same fucking setlist day in day out. I would get bored playing wonderwall every other day!

I mean I love oasis, but it would be a lot more interesting to hear noel do a solo album at this point. Songs like Idlers Dream and One Way Road show a lot of potential for a non "oasis" sound.

All this talk gets me well nervous about what Noel might end up doin. I'd ve fuckin devastated if Oasis split up, even if they did go solo. It just wouldnt be the same I saw oasis in NYC and Baltimore.. he was WELL UP FOR IT both nites.. ~I wish you cld have seen him in Baltimore esply ! Playing his guitar above his head, talking and flirting with the crowd, letting Liam hold the tambourine over his head, staying on stage extra long with Andy and Gem and giving us the 2 THUMBS UP ! Liam was absolutely MAD that nite, dancing and swearing ! ~ I think Noel is just tired.. maybe some personal stuff.. Homesick defo.. ~ Noel has said a few times that he thinks it's DEPRESSING when he sees ppl who retire from the BIZ and do nothing.. he said oasis is all he knows how to do.. ~ I feel they will put out at least one more album ! (in my gut... and we know they have the songs ! ) he will want the $$$ too so.. ~ I have said this before.. WHEN HE GOES SOLO , I look fwd to the flights to England and the smaller/more intimate venues. ;D

Noel seemed totally up for it when I saw them 5 times this year... what more does everyone want? Noel was mostly drunk, high and fat in the Acquiesce video (BHN days), and younger! he is a grumpy old man, we have face that fact...brillant none the less..still grumpy, actully he as ALWAYS been a moody basterd. Plus they have pushed it TOO far... they have had a great tour.. and they ALWAYS seem to push it untill they explode, after this year they should be in the studio, not playing places they have already been! I mean when will whoever books there tour learn? This is way we have to wait 3 years for a new album... they get burn out! as for noel being better solo.....PLEASEEEEEEEE he can barely write 5 tunes for this album, with Liam bugging the hell out of him...I dunno what makes everyone think he will get his arse together and write a WHOLE album now... I love Oasis and I love Noel...but give it a break.

If Noel is thinking in split away from Oasis... Well,I'm ready to take his place in the band.I can do the solos, and most important I have the right haircut... C'mon!...

They´re not splitting up. Come on, Noel is just a human as we are. We can´t expect or demand that he would be happy or totally madferit on touring every single day. He´s just tired and maybe he has some problems in his personal life, like we all have sometimes. But I think he still wants to do those all gigs and interviews and all that stuff. He´s still the boss and won´t let us fans down.

Grumpy Old Geezer is all I have to say. Liam's always been the nice one from my own experience and from a whole lot of other fans who've met them.

well i dont know, but i spoke with phil in chicago and i asked him the very same question. he said that everyday noel has to wake up and as a songwriter he realizes he may have already written his best two albums...that could be it..poor noel
