This song has really turned out to be pretty damn good. Never get sick of it and becomes more and more one of top 3 on album.
Can't believe it leaked out in March............8 months ago!!!

I remember the first time I listened to it I was like "WTF is this??"
Now it's one of my favourite Oasis tunes.
How times change... I think hearing it live really helped... It sounds great live...
Actually, has anyone else noticed how Liam stopped singing the really high "feel so" in the chorus? I only just realized it...

I've noticed Liam not singing the high "feel so." He did the same with "Slide Away". On the record it is "'Cause now THAT you're mine!" Now he's more monotone with it. Liam's a great singer, but he does tend to let the intricacies of a song fade away over time.

first time i heard Lyla was when it was leaked on the polish radio station and then i d/l it from this site i like to read the lyrics first time i hear a song (dunno, i like finding nice quotes to fill me AIM away message lol, and it helps me remember the song so i can sing aloud haha) so i hear it and im like WTF is this!!?? It just didnt work for me...but i played it again and it sounded better. By the time that night was over, i must have played in 20 times. It's now grown so much on me, Dare i say this--its one of my favourites on DBTT. I love the guitar solo part and then when it explodes in coming back to HEYYYY LYLA!!! ^around 3.03mins into the song....love that part top top song

I couldn't get into it much. Even after the album came out and even at MSG. Somewhere between the hollywood bowl and the Manchester Bootleg it got a whole lot better, It is definatley growing on me.
When Hindu Times and Go Let it out came out, they were very energetic in comparison as intro singles. I was waiting for something like that. Lyla carries a consistent rhythm the whole way through

At first it felt like it was building up and would have an absolutely rockin chorus-- but it didnt really. It was sort of boring. But then it got sort of addicting. But then it sort of faded off my radar. I still like it though. Also the first time I heard Liam's voice on Lyla I got EXTREMELY happy. It sounded better than it had on any HC tracks. And after the radioaid performance I thought that Liam was all fixed. But from the tour, that's not so He still has a lot of trouble. And with that, I'm listening to DBTT for the first time in months (I've only listened to Oasis occasionally lately. I've been listening to boards of canada, frank zappa, and phish a lot lately) Forgot what a great record it was. Still wish there were more guitar solos.

yea man i heard it on the polish radio station leak too. I remember I downloaded it and duing the first few seconds I was like, "no, this is just some street fighting man demo". Then I realize it had different lyrics. by the first corus i was hooked.
I rember I had heard talk by coldplay which had leaked about a week or two before and i was like "this kicks coldplays balls"

The other day I was driving home from work and popped in an unmarked homemade CD. The live version from Jonathan Ross was on it. When I heard it, I started having flashbax from seeing them this past summer.
What a great song!...What a great concert!

I wasn't very impressed with Lyla at first...but over the months it has definately become the song I listen to the most off the album...and I would say it's the best song off the album now.

lolz I remember the initial reaction from the Polish Radio leak - how we hated it! Now its valued for that quintessential Oasis summer single. Respect.

I used to be harsh on that song, but it's not that bad, really. There are a lot of worse songs in Oasis 2000's discography.
