as much as i hate to admit to skipping songs on HC and sotsog....DBTT is the first lp since masterplan and BHN (I LOVE THAT LP) that i can listen to without skipping a tune...that tells me they are truly returning to form...
and for all the asshole reviewers..out of the 7 lps they released ( my opinion) dm is a 5 star wtsmg a 5 star dbtt a 4 to 5 star masterplan a 4to 5 star bhn a 4 to 5 star sotosg a 2 star hc a 3 star
even if some want to rate BHN LOWER its still a band that has produced 4 lps that rate 4 to 5 stars dm wtsmg dbtt masterplan NOT A BAD FUCKIN TRACK RECORD EH?

dbtt proved only ONE thing to you??? YEA i always knew how great they were ..nothing suprised me about that..liams skills were shown on hc for writing ..i only needed to see they can do a lp from start to finish again with no " filler tracks" other than that they needed not prove anything else ...IMO

Ah, kalas, why so hard on SOTSOG?
Sure, there's some clunkers on there (PYMWYMI, ICSAL, LJ) but don't forget that Gas Panic, Sunday Morning Call, Go Let It Out, Fuckin' In The Bushes, Where Did It All Go Wrong,Roll It Over are on there as well... so I agree with everything you said BUT if you give HC 3 stars then I would have to say that SOTSOG needs 3 stars as well... SOTSOG has some great songs but I think the reason why some peole don't like it is because it is a different style than the other albums, especially when it came right after BHN and then before that WTSMG I think that's why it was received so harshly... but I agree with what you said about DBTT, no skippers there

its funny...i ran into Liam in a bar the day after the MSG show and we were discussing that same point. He was so glad that all us fans had decided to 'stick around' and not write them off....its just a point where everything came together at the right time...still can't take the cd out of my stereo....

2 stars for SOTSOG? I fucking LOVE that LP. Fuckin in the Bushes rules. I love Go Let it Out. Who Feels love is brilliant. Put Yer money IS b-side material. Little James is too, but Gas Panic is amazing, Where did it all go wrong is fantastic, Sunday morning call is good, i can see a liar is also b-side material, and Roll it over is amazing. That's like 6 AWESOME songs. 2 stars compared to DM, but compared to other records that get 2 stars? It's much better.
HC is much weaker than SOTSOG

I think HC and SOTSOG are, like BHN, very underrated, even by Oasis fans.
Which other bands have albums so lowly rated like these two (we've seen mags give them 3 or even 2 stars) with songs like: Fuckin in the Bushes, Go Let It Out, Gas Panic, Where Did It All Go Wrong?, Sunday Morning Call, Roll It Over, The Hindu Times, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Little By Little, Songbird, Born on a Different Cloud. A lot of bands put out albums with 2 radio hits and fillers, the magazines praise them and the same magazines print that Oasis 'lost it'. It's all bullshit as far as I'm concerned.

hey man... I'm just saying, from the most subjective point of view you can take on music:
DM was by far the best.... arguably by a LOT MG was insanely good pop BHN was too overproduced SOTSOG was a failed attempt at a change in direction HC was bland DBTT is a solid rock album
mind you...... that is TOTALLY not what I think of Oasis' albums.
My faves are DM and BHN, followed by DBTT
Morning Glory means a lot to me cos it's the first one I bought, but the rest of them (studio albums) are not all that one form. I agree that SOTSOG was a bad step (recovery from band issues/fame fallout) and HC wasn't at all a stand-out album
Very good thread, Kal
