Oasis, Pixies, Killers to rock Island Major musical acts are heading 'Across the Pond' for pair of concerts Oct. 1-2
Staten Island has hooked what could be its biggest rock coup yet.
Oasis, Pixies, Beck and The Killers are among the top-flight acts confirmed for the two-day, double-venue Across The Pond Festival Oct. 1-2. The concerts will take place simultaneously at Richmond County Bank Ballpark at St. George, and KeySpan Park in Brooklyn, with the acts swapping sites in the style of England's popular V Festival.
Concert promoter Jim Steen of Ron Delsener Presents, said ticket information will "hopefully be released later this week, maybe early next week -- but this event definitely is happening."
Other announced performers include Jet, Gang Of Four, Belle & Sebastian and The New York Dolls, featuring West Brighton native David Johansen. Jim Glancy, president of Ron Delsener Presents, said more musical heavyweights are on tap.
"The complete line-up of talent will be staggering," said Glancy, in a statement released earlier this week.
A discount will be available for fans purchasing tickets to more than one show. Fans can also opt to attend a single concert.
Across the Pond joins a growing list of rock events -- including the Coachella Music Valley Music Festival in Indio, Calif., and England's Download Festival -- luring concertgoers from around the globe. The Download Festival makes its American debut Oct. 8 in San Francisco.

Ahuh so this means that Oasis will be playing both nights? That's very un-oasis like. Oh well...more oasis for me. ;D

I still can't see Oasis doing both nights. My first instinct, and I posted it earlier that the venues would swap talent and everyone would play twice. But I still think it's unlikely that Oasis will play on the 29th in Maryland, 30th in Ohio, 1st in Brooklyn and 2nd in SI. If they do though, what a birthday fer me!!!!(the 1st)
