I know what you mean mate. That's why they release singles in your country and not in mine. Down here they are not seen like that though. It's really a shame. But it's a bit part of our culture to like native music than foreigns know what I mean?

DBTT is selling well in Brazil, it's still in the top 10 of "international" albums at most major music stores.

That's exactly what I mean.. you have to separate the international from national charts.. in Argentina, DBTT was #1 for several weeks till recently in the normal charts. I'm not arguing with ya mate coz you more than anyone here know how it's like to be an Oasis fan in Brazil. ;D

sorry, but i disagree with you, brumoscardo... i´m brazilian too, and I think brazilian people listen a lot more foreign music than native... when you watch MTV in here, there´s always a "britney spears , 50 cent , system of a down" kind of music, and the native songs you hear are no more than imitation of US pop or rock songs (CPM 22, detonautas, etc...)... actually, brazilian music scene is 75% north american, 20% brazilian and 5% other countries... that´s my opnion, of course i respect yours (and it´s good to see another brazilian madferit - and supporter of São Paulo!!!)...

I disagree mate. Even though we're always bombed with this commercial shit from the US, our music is still up there mate. I know you live in a big city and knows english but not everyone has the opportunity to be like that, you should consider that you live in a very very big country. And mainly people aren't influenced by MTV. MTV is for teenagers. The real music influence is what Globo says and not to mention the other channels around. Just watch tv on Sunday and you'll know what I mean, but not cabled. Anyways, check the top 40 weekly mate and look who's on #1: www.hot100brasil.com/chtalbums.htmlAnd don't be shocked! It's almost every week like this. Oasis ain't there anymore

i agree with your last opnion, but i think we're talking about different things... i didn't explained right my point of view, so let's go: when i said brazilian people hear more foreign than native songs, i mean brazilian people that are expected to like rock - people with age, social condition and hometown compatible with the pop-rock scene... you really can't expect that a forty-six year old man who lives in a small city on Goiás state will ever know about oasis existence... he's more likely to listen "bruno e marrone", or "zezé di camargo e luciano"... but if you take people from 12 to 30, living in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or another big cities, with social condition to have cable tv (or at least to watch something that isn't Globo) and a computer with internet, they will probably listen to foreign music instead of native... that's my point of view...

d'you know what i mean? i think oasis isn't that loved in here not because we don't listen foreign music, but because who listen to foreign music in here listen the same of US people, because of their influence in other countries' music scene, and they definitely DON'T like oasis....

It's true.I'm from Argentina and it seems that Oasis has reborn in these parts with DBTT.Lyla and TIOBI are radio hits but the fav song in here is KTDA (I can't believe that this one won't be released as a single). But I must say that most of the "new" Oasis fans are girls (it's hard to believe but it's true). It is sad,but even with all the succes of DBTT in this country they won't come to play...

forgot to say : with the release of DBTT some people here in argentina have seem to regain interest in oasis (this happened as well with heathen chemistry, and seems will happen everytime oasis releases an album...) .... so a gig right now will sell out easily....
