I've been an oasis fan since as long as I can remember and always try and catch them at least once when they announce a uk tour. I must admit that over the past couple of years I had been getting a bit bored with listening to Rock n Roll and had generally been turning towards dance music. The mere sound of Chris Martin going on about how Gog put a smile on his face just made the decision even easier!
This is until I bought a ticket to the Saturday Manchester gig, followed by a trip on the Saturday just gone to Milton Keynes which was in fact my tenth time seeing them. All I can say is that they were absolutly incredible on both days!! The crowds at both gigs were amazing. Didn't manage to get in the pit at MK but where I was standing (just left of centre about 5 deep from the bar) there were people flying everywhere! A proper mosh up! The fact that I have gone looking for an oasis forum just showshow good I thought they were.
My faith in Rock n roll has been totally restored and I cant wait to see them at V in Chelmsford.
Just thought i'd share that with some people who might want to listen because everyone at work has had enough of listening to me!
Oasis.....better than ever? I reckon so anyway

i cant say iv seen much of them live in the past, im only 20. i reckon musically the band are better than ever - gems an absolute genius isnt he?? andy b's songs rule (THANK GOD FOR TURN UP THE SUN!!!!) - so in that sense - nows the time to see them.
iv seen them twice this year and liams voice has been amazing, he's had each song in his pocket, and the new songs are fitted around his voice. this is not at all a negative comment, but his voice during 94-98 was untouchable, but as i say its all relative to each individual song.
they fuckin rule all year round!!!

I'm 24 years old and have been a massive fan of them ever since I first heard them when I was 14. I haven't had the opportunity to see them live before, because I was either too young and my parents wouldn't let me go, or they weren't coming anywhere near me and I couldn't afford to travel and see them. I'm finally going to see them twice this year here in the US, and I can't wait. I wish I could have seen them in the nineties to experience the way they were then, but I'm also kind of glad in a way that I'm getting the opportunity to see them now, because they are really tight musically and sound great. I also wish I could see them in the UK with a massive crowd to see how great that is, but I'm finishing up college at the moment and can't afford that expensive of a trip. Hopefully in the not too distant future though.

I like the different flavours of various gigs. I've seen the small intimate gigs and the stadium shows. I've seen 3 in scotland, 1 in england and now 1 in the US where I now live. There's big differences between the UK & US crowds IMO and again between stadium and small venues. Each is special in its' own way.
By the way machaggis, welcome to the forum. It's refreshing to see someone's first post somewhere other than 'Sound & Vision' (if you stick around you'll come to understand this comment!). Enjoy the place it's the best oasis forum by a country mile ;-)

I'd go crazy to see them in England. I wish that I was older in the nineties and could have seen them when they were just 5 guys in a band who loved rock n roll. Now they're older, the music isn't as natural, and Oasis is already a legend. Plus, Liam's voice isn't as good.

I'd disagree.
I think that seeing Oasis when I did (4 weeks ago) was probably the best time to see them live. The band has matured a lot since the ninties, and of course it's taken the 5 years since Guigs and Arthurs left for Gem and Andy to pick up and really meld with the band. And don't get me started on Zak!!
Anyhow, point being, I'd rather see Oasis in 2005 than in 2000, and even rather than 1996. There were too many people at those concerts who weren't madferit, especially over this side of the Atlantic. I would've only loved to see them in '94. Every time I watch "Live By The Sea" I think...... "fuck, that would've made for the best concert ever".

I foresee the next album's tour being fantastic. At this point in time the hype of Oasis was a 10 years old, but the fact is that they are still one of the best live bands around (from an "unbiased" perspective). Named no.10 of 50 top live acts to see during your lifetime is pretty fucking awesome.
