i have a feeling that, considering the event, the would've played fade away...
when they noel was on that cd for the refugee children of bosnia he did fade away with johnny depp.
the line "while we're living the dreams we have as children fade away" would've went well with the event and what it was for...
i also think live forever would've been another good choice because of the lyrics.

It was a missed oppurtunity for some American exposure. Both MTV and VH1 carried the event live and Oasis would have blown so many people away.
My preferred set list
1. Fade Away 2. Roll It Over 3. Live Forever 4. All Around The World

I think Noel would have stuck to his guns and not done anything from be here now, which is a shame, cause all round the world would have gone down well.
I thinkt hey would have played :
Acquiese or Lyla or My Generation or Some might Say Along with
Wonderwall Little by Little or Let there be Love Live Forever
I would have wanted
Carry us all Live Forever All around the World Let There be Love
That would be a mega set.

Initially I thought that it would've been great for the boys to perform but then I had second thoughts. These "showcase" type gigs where you get a zillion performers usually means that artists don't really get the "individual & specific sound" they are accustomed to. I watched a bit of the concert and noticed how "off" some of the performers/performances were eg. Destiny's child , Simple plan , Richard Ashscrofts 'backing' wasn't that great though his voice and the song itself is brilliant , U2 somehow sounded out of sorts - I really noticed how Bono's voice was breaking on the high notes for Beautiful day etc... Also I don't want to sound cynical here but you really have to think sometimes if these type of 'events' actually achieve anything 'concrete' or if they are used by some 'celebrities' to expand their egos and/or profiles with the general public.

For me
Some Might Say Live Forever Don't Look Back In Anger
All are uplifting songs which would fit in their 15 minute time-limit. They could have changed some of the words to make it more appropriate.
