I stood from 3-9 to see them yesterday, slept in a car and just got home to bring you this.
Ok, to start I hah heard good things about nic armstrong and the thieves and was a little dissapointed...didnt help the crowd wasn't into them.
As for Jet, I saw them with the vines in the 9:30 club in DC a while back and they were much better this time...but still the crowd didnt really get into them.
Now for what you all have waited for. OASIS
From where I was everybody was going mental when we heard "this is not a drill" and later fuckin in the bushes. Plenty of O-A-SIS from different parts of the front crowd.
Turn Up the Sun - There were techinical problems, but still the people up front were going crazy with me.
Lyla- more techinical problems, Noel was furious..switched guitars a few times in the first few songs. Still, this was great, got everybody jumping and singing.
Love Like a Bomb- Started good but there were more techinical problems i think...it didnt end properly. Liam was furious. Still us in the front were going crazy and singing.
Around the time of Bring it on Down, and Morning Glory things got back on track and the show went on as normal. The rest is just highlights as I remember.
Cigs and Alcohol, Live Forever (dedicated to Glazer), Champagne Supernova, and Rock n roll star were the highlights of the show. My fav being rnr star. New additions like Mucky Fingers and the IOBI were good. LBL was a decent enough sing along.
Noel commented about how many sausages were in the front row. Both him and Liam looked to be having fun especialy towards the end and the encore.
When liam through his tambourine it landed in my hand I shit you not and I had it for a second and then I was like" fuck it man, this is for a girl..." and i tried to tell the guys wrestling over it that but no one listened. Some young 12 year old little shit got it because his BIG brother or something had his back and pushed everybody away. I was dissapointed he didnt give it to a girl.
Now for the Encore.
The crowd loved the encore. Songbird and wonderwall, everbody sang.
Don't look back in Anger might have been the highlight of the show. Noel had fun doing it. Some one threw a Union Jack and it hit his guitar during the end.
My Generation was amazing too. Then the show was over. It was absloutely mental. I didnt want it to end. Hell, i almost cried during live forever because this was my first show and I could believe I was actually there.
Overall, yes some philly fans did ruin parts, yes there were many young girls, and passive fans. But as somebody said earlier about the frat guys -Fuck YOU. I am a fraternity brother, I did wear my house shirt there(never know when youre gonna see a brother and get treated like one) and I know i was not being a problem, I wasnt even drunk yet. I waited until after the show to get "wankered" just liam liam said. As a whole, from my view the crowd was good in the front other than some trouble makers and passive fans. I didnt see the back so I cant pass judgement on them.
Overall, I had fun, my mates had fun, our girls had fun. Liam and Noel looked like them had dun at the end. Isn't that what it's all about?
By the way- it was filmed so something might surface eventually
