Sorry guys but MSG was 100x better than the Philly gig...I just got back and I was somewhat disappointed. First of, I would say only about 25-30% of the people there were singing along. Second, some idiots were crowd surfing and throwing beer BOTTLES into the air. Third, Liam kept on complaining that the crowd was dead and he didnt sing all of Love Like A Bomb and SongBird...Did anyone else notice that too? We could've sworn he missed a bunch of lines from Luv Like A Bomb and SongBird seemed shorter. Anyway, any Oasis show is always such an experience for me (Philly was my 11th) but after MSG, I don't know how future gigs can match it...Maybe if I actually get to see a gig of theirs in Manchester! Someday...

LLAB and SB were the same I thought. Crowd was a little odd tonight. The pogoing flat out sucked because no one could find a rythym - too many little groups. Roseland 02 was great because the whole crowd was one. This one had scattered drunks here and there doing their thing making it much less fun.
Band was in good form as they've been throughout the NA tour. MSG was better, you're right, but this was still great as I was about 20 feet from the stage...I think I saw you at some point, were you with a guy who was behind you with his arm around you and were you in a white Oasis tee? I think I recognized you from your Liam pic.
Oh PS - I love Oasis, I do consider myself a die-hard fan. I check this forum every day about 7 times a day, I look for all this new news on the band, what they're up to, what they eat on Saturdays, etc. I just enjoy the music the band makes and I really love following them and I've been lucky enough to have been to 7 shows over the course of the last few years including MSG. Under normal circumstances I never flaunt that in anyone's face - we all love Oasis equally and we love discussing the music and the antics.
However, today I got so bothered while standing on line before the show when this girl in front of me tells me "Yeah me and my friend are the only die-hards here - we came all the way from New York - Manhattan." My response was "So have I - from Staten Island (SI is about a 20 minute ride from Manhattan), it's not a long drive. This is my 7th time seeing them too. The guy behind us is from England by the way."
I don't know why she irritated me so much but she did. Normally I don't mention where I traveled from or how many times I've seen the boys but tonight I felt I had to. Pointless side story but I just wanted to throw it in. Why are people so competitive about seeing a band?

It would've been great to have a guy there protecting us coz that crowd was filled with frat guys moshing to their own drunken rhythm! A bunch of people came up to us though because they recognized us from our Liam pics...Nice people!

I could have sworn it was you, I was going to say hi but thankfully I didn't - would have looked real dumb. Yeah the frat-guy thing HAS to go at these gigs...I'm up for some hooliganism every once in a while especially while seeing Oasis. But the frat guys know 5 or 6 songs and just bully everyone. The crowd tonight was too full of frat-guys and tenny bopping girls - not a very Oasis crowd. And like I said, the pogo-ing was pitiful due to these types of people!

I know it can sound petty and at times, vain, but its like that with most bands...Phish Heads, Metallica, etc.

But just because she traveled from NYC to Philly makes her a "die-hard"? There's so many other people who made the same trip or an even larger trip! Either way, oh well - how great was Liam at the end - "goin' out and getting absolutely fucking WANKERED tonight!!" Also forgot to add that a dude with a camera was on stage filming most of the gig + the crowd - saw that they did that in Boston as well - would love to see some small portion of the gigs released!

I exalt thee Queen Oasis, for being such a dedicated fan and posted LATE NITE. I gave my tickets to philly to my cousin and his wife. They are big jet fans and I also got em into Oasis. they were worthy of the tics. I needed to be home. anway.. I know tons of philly ppl. They are Def more of a Jet crowd. say no more. they wld prefer AC/DC (I got nothing against AC/DC BTW) Philly has lots of ASSHOLES. I went to college with all of em. My this is such an eloquently written post innit ? Ppl there - no class. case and point Eagles Fans. (with the exception of some family members.) I am sorry to hear that they "MISSED the boat" tonite (the fans) of the whole Oasis VIBE AND were unaware that they were in the presence of BRITISH ROCKnROLL Royalty ! No singing along ? that is the essence of the shows ! They need to learn the words obviously... good nite. see you around the forum. I am tired, hope this makes sense

At some point, this group of drunken 15-16 year olds tried to start a mosh pit and was bumping into everybody and splashing beer all over the place...So annoying! Thank God we were on those chairs!

I tell ya Philly ppl - went to shows there my whole life...their idea of being a crowd is talking about the Eagles, buying a soft pretzel, throwing beer bottles and then puking into the crowd. I posted this on another thread, but it is just so true and typical for that area. I see ppl have not gotten past wonderwall and champagne supernova. ? I'll take some b-sides thank you very much and I am sure you agree (even though yes those tunes are brilliant and TIMELESS.) gotta run, stay madferrit ! btw, THE NAME Yves, very cool. Tamara

This was my first full Oasis concert. A few years ago I went to see them in Camden with a friend from England who was over here working for MLS as a scout and we got there maybe 40 minutes after the show started and walked in as Oasis was playing My Generation. I was so angry because who would have expected Oasis to open for the Black Crows. I now have a deep hate for the Black Crows, but not because of anything they have done. Then I bought tickets to the show during the last tour, but that was canceled because of the car accident. So needles to say I was excited more than anything. The first was actually pretty good, but I have no idea who they were. Anyone know? Jet was really good and it seemed like people enjoyed them more than Oasis. How is that possible? Then Oasis came on. I was sooo impressed, but a little upset too. They played the popular stuff, but no Supersonic (my favorite) or Masterplan. The performance was great and I was singing everything I could remember, but I think I was the only one. Why the hell would you come to the show if you don't know the words? The a fight broke out where I was because someone was yelling something at someone and a guy thought it was directed at his girlfriend and he had to be a tough guy. Then the no talent *** clown next to me started throwing bottles at people. Yes, I was in the dreaded section almost directly next to the seats near the really tall kid in the peach polo ( about 8 people behind him). Then, during wonderwall the same tough guy who started the fight picked up his girlfriend and in the process kicked me in the most vulvernabile spot, if you get me, and I fell and slammed my knee into the ground. My friends picked me up and I told the girl who seemed just plain stupid and no apology. I just want an apology, it's only right. And of coarse this was during Wonderwall. The band was definatley the best I have ever seen and I am really impressed with Zak. He is awesome. I can't wait to see them again whenever I can get tickets again (maybe trekking to England even). I am tempted to get tickets somewhere else next time because the people here in Philly are not real fans. I don't think some of these people were even walking when Definately Maybe came out. And I just love the frat guys, let me tell you. The "Wonderwall Fans" just make me angry and I feel bad for the band. There were a few times you could tell they were not having a good time because of the idiot "fans." A show is interaction between the fans and the band. We have an obligation, as fans, to sing a long especially when Liam or Noel encourages us to. I feel this was a weak ass crowd except for us die hards. How many of them evern own DBTT or even Masterplan? Well now that I have vented, I feel much better. Sorry about the wordiness. I love the band and this was the best show I have seen, but I know they can be better, if they have a crowd full of fans. They are still the best band in the world with the best music and I am madferit!

Marcopolo,
I agree with all ya say - I may not have many posts here but I know I'm a "true" Oasis fan. I hate the "Wonderwallers" ya get soooo many of them in America - it's sickening. These are the same people who leave the gig and then get on their phone an go, "Yeah they played Wonderwall, Don't Look Back in Anger and Champagne Supernova and a bunch of other stuff I didn't really know. Oh no, they didn't fight - it sucked." God Awful!!! Some girl behind me made me want to puke last night - TIOBI starts being played and she goes "This is Hello!!" (no lie!! Hello and TIOBI?! How?!) I just shook my head in disbelief and kept to myself - what else can I do ya know? At least we're all able to go and enjoy the band and we're able to sing along to the classics or the b-sides and that's what helps us enjoy them isn't it? All that counts is what we know inside - we love the boys and their music and no one is better!

Oh I sooo agree with u two blokes! We should've all banded together at this gig!! My sis and I were the only ones in our section singing! I'd look around to see if anyone else was enjoying themselves and hardly anyone was dancing/swaying/singing. We must have looked intoxicated to these people coz we really got down! Ha! Ha! P.S - I saw that fight u were talking about! They were like 20 feet away from us.

People around me were more into the pushing and shoving than they were into Oasis. Didn't see the fight - thank the Lord! Oh! I keep remembering more and more haha sorry! Some dude kept yelling at Liam - calling him a motherfucker and a vagina and this and that - what the hell man, what are you trying to do, why piss him off?! Someone also threw a Union Jack that Noel and landed on the stage - you could tell Noel was not pleased with that...it's his friggen country's flag man, have respect!!! Unreal.

okay, not that i got to see the msg OR philly gig ( ) i do support the whole enthusiasm of audience point. i mean, i went to this gig tonight here in singapore. and it could have been really funky - it was in this open field near a train station and was a bunch of musicans from slovenia using construction and machine parts to make music. it was offbeat for singapore standards, and it really was a good performance. Literally, fuckin sparks flying - from those metal welding machines (at least i htink thats what those machines do =S) but yeah, there were loads of people, but the problem was they were just standing there. seriously, some people near the front were sitting! and this was the kind of driving precussion beats that you can feel vibrating in your body and you feel like moving. and i was with a couple of other friends so we were getting into it, kind of dancing and cheering - but it was kinda ruined by the fact that although you try not to care, you are kind of conscious that absolutely everyone else around you are obvisouly not enjoying it that much or at least not showing it. i mean, usually it feels good to cheer after a good song or whatever but i almost felt rude if you made sound cos everyone else was just clapping and stopping after a few seconds. im proabably exaggerating but you get my point =P basically all im tryign to say is that atmosphere of the gig is almost as important as the quality of the performance, and its the audience that really give it that atmosphere

I just wrapped up my 3 gigs in 4 nights. All three performances were great. Liams voice was spot on all 3 nights, Zak Starkey is brilliant. Got to meet the band at various spots in NY which was good. MSG was obviously the highlight. Manfield just had to many 12 year old girls. Philly was a great show, I enjoyed the venue but I was at the front on Noels side and this couple beside me and my wife were on shrooms. I'm all for shrooms but they just annoyed everone around us. They ended up in a shoving match with someone alse and everyone around them got kicked out. Except the annoying 2. Then the crowd surfing started. I got kicked in the back of my head. It felt like my front 2 teeth got knocked out. So I had to watch the encore from the sidelines. See everyone in Baltimore and hopefully Vegas.

I woz in the front row right under Noels mike stand and from where I was it was a great show, but then again I and all those around me had been witing in line since 1-2PM in order to get up front so we were all singing at the top of our lungs except for two or three fookin' nipples who were complaining about the crowd crush. (well then why the **** were you up front?!) I have been going to Oais gis since my 1st in 1997 in London and this was a great show despite the technical probems in the 1st two songs and the somewhat subdued crowd. Zak adds a new element to the live show much like Alans brother did on the brotherly love tour in 2001. As to complaining about real oasis fans not throwing bottles of beer, i guess you have not been to any of their outdoor shows in the uk then?

In many ways the Philly show was just as good if not better than the MSG gig. I believed Noel/Liam were much more into it and the crowd from where I was standing front row dead center was having a blast. Although I did see some drunkards it could have all been prevented by not serving alcohol at the venue. Um I was quite disappointed with how the event staff handled the admission. They just let everyone run into the loading zone and people that I never saw during my 12 hr wait were suddendly right beside me. Yes I left my house at 3:30 arrived in Philly about 5am stayed in a parking lot and made our way to the front gate at 8:15. There were only 2 groups ahead of us. Anyways that sucked that people wormed their way ahead. But I wa sone of the lucky people to make it in the "first" wave when they started checking tickets then when they saw how crazy we were they stopped the flow of traffic. When the gentleman check my ticket I ran straight for the camera man screaming "I'm MADFERIT!" Anyways, I wouldn't bring a gairlfriend to the concert very dangerous, chance of getting smushed.. Yea I loved it when some girl behind me wnated to take my front row spot because she was too short, ever try waiting in line coz I didn't see you there at 8am. Also there was no where to piss, not in the gas station, not in the parking lot and certainly not at the concert when your in the front. Water was limited and the city blows but the concert was different in a MEGA kinda way I loved it.

I enjoyed the show a lot. It was great being as close as I was. The most intimate show I've seen Oasis was at the Joint in Vegas where I could literally touch Liams feet. I enjoy the small venues and don't mind leaving with some bumps and bruises. I brought my wife to this show and she had a tough time in that crowd. Every crowd has a couple of idiots though. I was very surprised at the differences in the audiences between NY, Boston and Philly.

travelled w/ my friend from Nashville TN just for the show.
i thought the show was good overall... not a classic. not great. but it wasnt disappointing. the only thing that chaps my ass is when im jumping up and down goin nuts to rocknroll star and i have a 17 yr old to my left looking at me like im nuts...?
i was 3rd row just to the left of liam...there was a pack of about 6 17-18 yr olds who were active during 3 songs...lyla, wonderwall, and dont look back in anger. i wish i had a few more fans around my section.

Couldn't agree with you more, I was back 6 to 7 rows , madferrit throughout the show with the 16 to 17 yr olds and the wonderwallers looking at me like I lost my mind trying to pogo and singing along with all the songs, I enjoyed the show regardless, and I found that the band did interact more with the crowd then MSG, I wouldn't say better or worse then MSG, different venue, different crowd. Philly is not an Oasis friendly city (which is sad), they are barely played on any of local radio, local radio comments about the band are anything less then positive, it will not stop me from keeping the dream alive. See you all in Maryland. Idler
