First off, let me say that my wife and I had the time of our lives at the Mustang Harry's preparty, I made a lot of new friends from all over the world last nite and it's great to finally put some faces with the usernames.
Now as for the show, keep in mind that this was my very first Oasis gig, so I may not be as critical as kalas, zunoasis, and the rest of you.
It was easily the best show I have ever been to, BY A MILE. I could tell from the very first notes of Turn Up The Sun (everywhere I goooooooooooooo) that Liam's voice was going to be spot fucking on, and he was all nite long. (BTW I was ready to jump through the roof when I heard the first few chords of The Swamp Song, I screamed to my wife in delirium "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!" but the Noel abruptly stopped, what a fucking tease LOL)
Liam had such a swagger about him last nite that makes him as good as he is... he knew he had the crowd in the palm of his hand and he ate it right up... the way he strutted around the stage like he owned the whole fucking city... I love how at the end of some of the songs he just stood there like a fucking statue in customarily fashion, soaking up both the applause from in front of him and the power of the music behind him... it's like all that energy made him grow bigger and bigger and BIGGER as the night progressed...
And I loved how he interacted with the crowd, dangling his tambourine in front of them, letting them touch it throughout the evening... it's like they were drawing power from that fucking thing... they were under his spell and he fucking knew it...
Couldn't believe how loud the crowd was, almost deafening throughout the nite... During DLBIA, I was signing along as loud as I could, but I couldn't hear the words coming out of my own mouth, that's how loud the place was... UNBELIEVABLE... And for the first chorous on DLBIA, I loved how Noel just walked away from the mike because he KNEW that the crowd was gonna pick it up... fantastic.
Also I think both Liam and Noel were blown away by how electric the crowd was... They were both applauding and acknowledging the fans throughout the evening and at the end Noel just stood there clapping his hands at the crowd for what seemed like an eternity... I don't think he wanted to leave the stage...
Certainly a night that I will NEVER forget, now I'm gearing up for the Tweeter Center tomorrow!
