Ive seen them 3 times in Detroit sold out everytime. Amazing shows they get every person in the place on their feet for 2 hours singing every fuckin word. Yet they get no hits on the radio, no album sales? COldplay, U2, couldn't come anywhere close to any of these shows. I've seen all three bands live and Oasis is the best. Im not biased either. I base this off of the fans reaction, not the performance. I mean if a band can come in and get 10,000-20,000 people going nuts for an hour and half without having a hit single in over 10 years! thats unheard of!!! The only other band that has done that is the Rolling stones! I mean we all know the music industry is controlled by a handful of old men in the USA. But come on, how does oasis do it?!1!!! where do these people come from!

look man, listen to your local alternative/new rock station for 2 hours. the sad reality is that MOST (not all) of the bands sell more records than oasis in the us, appear on mtv more often than oasis (it must be 6 years since oasis had a video played) and sell out just as many large venues as oasis. the thing with oasis is that they usually play a dozen dates or less in the states, so people flock from hundreds of miles just to see em' hell, just check out how far some peeps are travelin to get to these batch of shows. the album sold 68,000 copies the first week...to be perfectly honest, an absolutely pathetic figure when compared to the top 2 or 3 dozen pop rock acts going right now. look at the numbers. still the beez kneez though.

I hope I am following what you are saying ? How do oasis do it despite X,Y and Z ? from what I hear, the music industry really "has it in" for oasis - due to the early 90's, no shows, obnoxious interviews and the "attitude" that oasis had with the music industry in general. i.e. Noel's statement "we are much more important that this circus." (which by the way, he was right and I will defend oasis right or wrong, because that is how I feel about them they have my unconditional love, period.)For others I guess it doesn't sit well with them ? the music industry had the expectation for oasis to come and take america and be the next beatles, make em tons of money etc. which was a "crock of SHIT." I cld go on and on about this topic but oasis never "sold themselves out" and therefore have suffered for it. in the states, MTV pretty much dictates what is popular. a marketing machine for the consumer nation. Therefore I do not watch it bec. I refuse to have someone tell me what is good music vs not. I personally unplugged that monster years ago. As for now, the music speaks for itself, IT ALWAYS HAS, oasis have endured and that is why the albums and tours continue to do so well (world -wide). they are a fans based band and we can;t get enuff of em ! Coldplay, noel summed it up - chris martin can sum up the meaning of life, the universe, and all surrounding galaxies in 3.5 mins. (and it's exhausting !) as for me, I'd rather have Liam's lyrics i.e. "You turn me on, yer love's like a bomb - blowin my mind !" - or "I cld be your lover, you cld be all mine.." or I'm a different breed, I'm outta youre league, I'm 10 outta 10 !" As far as noel's lyrics, that is a whole sep. thread ! as for oasis - it is PURE ROCK N ROLL - that will always sound timeless to true ROCK FANS. there is no way around it, not even thru the US music industries demise and efforts to stamp them out ! I think oasis have the opportunity to turn it around in 2005-06 with the tours and all and in the eyes of the critics. we shall see if a whole new generation catches on ? hard to say ? I have done my own recruiting. In my opinion, great groups are far and few b/t at the moment. I know many wld disagree and it's all in the ear of the beholder. OK, I rambled, sorry ! Long live oasis and long live rock !

You are a persuasive one, Tam. That's some great commentary there.
