so no bullshuit now, liams voice was amazing? There were two parts that I didn't think he nailed, otherwise he was spot on all gig. The first verse of Lyla (again) was a little flat, and then the high notes in LLAB were a little off the first run through (Like "seeing"), but after those two (they were #3 and 4 on the set), he was awesome. And he absolutely nailed the high parts on Morning Glory, My Generation, everything, it was AWESOME. The band needs to decide how to play Wonderwall at the end though, because Liam did the "After all, you're my Wonderwall" bit twice, while Noel looked like he wanted it to have been the repeating "saves me" part the second round through (last chorus only). They had the camera on Noel as he was doing the echo of "saves me" and he looked like he wanted to kill Liam right at the end. My brother and I thought it was pretty funny. There was a cool little intro tape that got played before FITB, which was interesting as well. Then TUTS, Lyla, and they surprised me with LLAB. The crowd was REALLY into Lyla, I saw tons of people belting out the chorus, which was really cool. Then the gig really took off when they played Morning Glory. I don't think many people were expecting it. Noel went on a rant about how people shouldn't chuck CD's onto the stage before he did DLBIA in the encore. He said something like "Do you really think someone's going to pick that up and listen to it?" Followed by: "it'd be a great story, but it's just not gonna happen." Liam introduced Wonderwall as an old B-side, which had me excited for a second, then they played Wonderwall, which was cool, because I'd never seen them live before, but less exciting than if (It's Good) To Be Free had started, cause I love that song... It was funny, he was like "We're gonna do an old b-side for you now, and then... Wonderwall The band really was great, as were both the openers. The crowd was really lacadasical for Jet until they played Are You Gonna Be My Girl, but they sounded really good. I'd never heard of Nik Armstrong, but I was pretty impressed with some of their songs. One of the guys that sang lead sounded exactly like Paul McCartney too, which made me understand a little of where they got on the tour from. All in all, great show. Fabulous way to spend my evening, although I absolutely hate the appallingly slow speed that people can leave the Molson Amphitheatre, because it took me almost an hour to get out, which was kind of ridiculous...
