Just got back from the Oasis show at the Molson Amphitheatre. It was sold out, Nic Armstrong And The Thieves started the show, played for about a half hour. Jet followed playing for a hour, the lead singer seemed annoyed with the crowd as they received little to no crowd response. Oasis came on at 9:30 and played for about an hour and a half. Liam's vocals were excellent, compared to the recent bootlegs, this was his best performance so far. The setlist was;
Fuckin' In The Bushes Turn Up The Sun Lyla Love Like A Bomb Bring It On Down Morning Glory Cigarettes & Alcohol Importance Of Being Idle Little By Little A Bell Will Ring Live Forever The Meaning of Soul Mucky Fingers Champagne Supernova Rock n Roll Star
Encore Songbird Wonderwall Don't Look Back In Anger My Generation

Heard they were having problems at rehearsal with this one ? Either Liam put his mind to it or Noel "cracked the whip ?" (doubt it ?) LOL ! ;D

Hey Tam, Noel sounded amazing, the whole band looked good, Liam was wearing that black leather jacket again. Noel sang four songs, I don't think he has sang that many songs since he did the acoustic set back in the day. I felt bad for Jet, they were really trying their hardest to get the crowd going but it didn't work, "C'mon for fucks sake" was said a few times by the lead singer, you could see that he was getting frustrated. They managed to get good crowd reactions for "Are You Going To Be My Girl" and "Look What You've Done", but other than that, no dice. Beach balls were being tossed around, Liam got one and tossed it back into the crowd. I could see Liam's kids at the side of the stage, I also think I saw Nicole, but I'm not completely sure. Noel ripped on a fan who threw, I guess a demo tape?, on stage. Liam did his tradition throwing of the tambourine into the crowd. Zak is a killer drummer, he brings a new energy to the live show and to the band. Very Keith Moon like.

Great show all around.
Much different feel then my last Oasis gig (1998).
I was right up at the front and the sound was better then expected. I certainly hope they come back to Toronto again in the fall. I would definetly make the trip.
Well worth the trip.

I'm thinking if they come back in sept, they should do the ACC; i know they tend to do the outdoors gigs in TO (wouldnt have been mega if they did Olympic Island?....well the view would suck, but it would be mega cuz it would be huge), but a bigger venue would be better for em, cuz those tickets would go, and the demand is clearly there. Hopefully they will come to TO next time around as well, cuz this town clearly loves Oasis. Fantastic show; can't wait til MSG!!!!!

The ACC would really only be marginally bigger than the Amphitheatre, and then only if they sold it like U2 does (with the seats behind the stage availible)... Otherwise, the only bigger venue would be to use the Rogers Centre (SkyDome), which isn't really a concert place...
