That is great news as there has been virtually no publicity or mention of DBTT here. Eg, It's not been JJJ feature record (or even mentioned whereas the last two were ) no reviews in the paper (apart from an article today) and the media seems to be going out of it's way to ignore it and hope it goes away.

I've seen some articles on the age website aswell as smh. There's one on Smh.com.au today which looks like the fella has just watched the DBTT bonus DVD and written it like he's interviewed them. I saw one ad on telly the other day during the V8 Supercars telecast. Still, 5th is a good effort even though it didnt go gold or platinum in the 1st week (X&Y went platinum and took 1st spot, which in Aus is 70,000+ copies). Nevertheless, they're coming anyway, so we need not worry

yeah thats good news. i remembering seeing an ad on F.A. cup final nite a few weeks ago. that was exciting. the ad was reminded me of "there and then" with the crowd and that. the drum media (sydney) has had a few little ads in there but nothing too extreme and triple j has had nothing. music max seems to be the only thing supporting them if u have foxtel u might have seen a few occasions where oasis have had 1 hr straight of vids. in the first week when it came out though, wasnt the charts: 1)Coldpay 2)Oasis 3)White stripes ?? thats what it was on the hmv website. anyways... its done better than i thought it would. i think people are suprised how good lyla is too (considering most of my mates think oasis have split up after be here now - idiots)

White Stripes, Oasis & Coldplay were all released last week so they only show on the aria charts for the week beginning today (monday 13th June). www.aria.com.au1. Coldplay 3. White Stripes 5. Oasis HMV would have had different sales chart for just their stores. The ARIA charts are a more realistic indication of the sales Australia wide as a whole. But... I've also heard that record labels submit data based on the amount of units they ship to retail stores for sale and not the amount actually purchased by consumers.

I havent heard the white stripes yet. I always knew the promo for Oasis here wasnt going to be flash and in all honesty the fact it got no.5 in spite of this suprised me.
But back to my last comment about record companies etc. If they promote an album a lot more i.e. Coldplay they are going to assume more sales and ship more copies out to stores the 1st week. So IF they actually submit their sales based on this, Oasis was never going to beat Coldplay. If you get what I mean.
