Ok probably I will be derided for saying this but I really do think DBTT is a classic, I love it and I play it constantly over and over. Never palyed SOTSOG or HC this much, I was bored of tehm by now
I love everything on it now, even Mucky fingers and especially TMOS.
To me if you played say GGTIA, KTDA, ABWW alongside some of teh MG or DM tunes they stand comparison and you could say they are from the same band (even though Andy Bell and Gem wrote some of them).
KTDA is my favourite from it (MUST be a single, its the best song about dusting yourself off and starting agin since Chumbawumba's I get up knocked out and I get up again ) ABWW follows which seems to sit perfectly too.
Classic oasis. I think this one will run and run
PS The last two were lack lustre and I don't say this about every release they have done (and I have everything they have released even Japanese imports and got DM when it first came out)

Too soon to call it a classic...but i know what you mean
Classics stand the test of time...and this album has been out for just a week....
Classic??..only time will tell...but I don't think so....GREAT album though, and nothing wrong with that now is it??...

i dont know myself, these are just musings....but for an album to be a 'classic' does it have to have social importance? like definitely maybe did, like nevermind did, like never mind the bollocks did....you know, they mattered to the masses. is that what helps define them as a 'classic' - not just the time factor and the brilliant songs?

same said bout hc and now all the vaginas are forghettin bout it. exactly. i dont exprect any of you to re-state this in 12 months time. i for myself like every album and every album finds its way more or less often to my cd player. can't say the same for other bands....the pistols might be an exception

I agree its proably too early to say it is a classic but that's what I reckon too . It may become a classic- I think. There is at least one song from it which has entered my all time greatest compilation (eg Bitter Sweet Symphony, Live Forever, Pride, Fools Gold, Paranoid Android.. Keep The Dream Alive)
I love this album, just can't get tired of it.
Also my wife who loves to hate my oasis collection agrees this one is OK to leave on in the car- she says LTBL is lovely and KTDA is quite moving so from a non oasis fan that's something

my girlfriend loves KTDA and LTBL too, but it doesn't make DBTT a classic yet, though it is doing better than I expected, so who knows?
