First, excuse my bad english. I was in the first/second line (beetween boy and his girlfriend from Poland and boy with the hat:-) from Bulharia...(and in front of me was nice girl form Germany  ), just in front of Andy and Gem. We were shouting their names and few times they noticed us and smiled on us, which was great, because andy looked very sad... I suppose that was because of the fact, that he didnt have sunglasses, which, I think, is pretty rare:-)...so we could saw his eyes...He looked tired, but pleased by the crowds after aplauding during Turn up the sun...which is their best opener after very long time, I suppose.... The setlist was the same as always, no surprises. Once Liam said... "say Liam Liam"...and everyone was shouting "LIAM, LIAM" But one difference there was! Liam was singing songbird, but after few seconds stopped...and it was !NOT! because his voise was bad, so he couldnt sing it... it was more like a joke, funny thing...well, funny for him, because for the first few seconds of silence (just band playing G chord round and round:) Noel and the rest of the band were laughing... but when noel realised that liam wont sing the rest of the song and they will have to play this one chord around for another few minutes, he looked upset...or, not exactly upset but emocions on his face were quite mixed (dont know how to describe it)...Liam wanted the crowds to sing it (and lot of people did), but many of us were little bit confused.... My friend also told me, that Liam slapped one roadie´s ass, but I cant confirm this:-) Just before the show, I was worried about Liams voice, but now I have to say, it was brilliant... But it is just my opinion...I was in the first line, drunken German fans were absolutely mad, so my position was not good enough to judge the quality of his voice, but I am absolutely sure, that it it was way better than previous gig in Brussel, which I find really bad. The highligts for me were Champagne supernova, Mucky fingers, meaning of soul, Turn up the sun, Dont look back in anger and many more:-) I hope they will broadcast it soon... OASIS LIVE FOREVER!!!! |

Fantastic. Did he seem sober? no, absolutely not...he was even smiling! (sometimes:-) I found alternative version for songbird story on Soapbox by nicname Schumi 3: -durin Songbird a fucker standin directly in front of Liam booed and put thumbs down. liam went mad. he stopped singin after verse 1 and went down to that guy. it looked like he was gonna punch him every second. fuckin ace. after songbird with nearly no lyrics, liam said: Now This one is for all you ppl, except that fuckhead here(pointed at the idiot).It felt like he was gonna show the guy,coz this one was one of the best wonderwalls so far.
An I have one more story...many people were jumping up on the hands of the crowds...When security guards saw anyone doing this, they took him down and took him away...There was one boy, who was "travelling" right in front of Liam...when Liam saw him, he came to the edge of the stage and was gesticulating and miming something like "come on, come here"...it was totally mad....everyone wanted to touch him, but he was about 1,5 metres far....When the boy who was on people´s hands saw Liam he tried to touch him too...And he DID!!! for few seconds, Liam shaked his hand.... (liam standing on the edge, boy in the air!) than security guards punched that boy down and took him away... it looked almost like this:-)  |

Fantastic. Did he seem sober? Does he ever? ;D Liam also slapped Alan White's ass just before they entered stage during Rock in Rio (2001). Not quite slapped, he grabbed it until Alan quickly walked away from him. Like I've been saying all along, people who actually see the band live (not some crap bootleg) always say Liam sounds fine. He was clearly having problems in Brussels (technical problems and/or drinking), but other than that it's all normal as far as I'm concerned. |

i went to the gig too (just got back home now) and it was amazing! tiny tiny venue, i was 4 rows back directly in front of noel and managed to lose my jacket at the gig  the story about liam during songbird is true and everyone where i was finished the song for him anyway! liams vox were great and it was quite possibly the best gig ive ever been to. ill try and write a proper review tomorrow! |
