US charts not released officially until Wednesday, but you'll probably hear early (incomplete) tallys tomorrow www.hitsdailydouble.com/sales/salescht.cgiRight now Oasis is number 1, but at the top it says less than 1% reporting, so nothing to get excited about.

20% reporting and still in at #8. While shocking that they will chart so high, no other single on the album will get airplay like Lyla.

I think KTDA would do very well in U.S.
It has an American feel to it (don't ask I heard that somewhere else!)
It has already been used in an NBA National Broadcast Basketball game.
The lyrics are being used b/c "Keeping The Dream Alive" is what teams are doing (I guess) while they are on the brink of being knocked out of the playoffs.
If it is on TNT tonight I bet they use it again!!!
Arrgh!! I just realized my post is useless dribble!

Everyone seems to go on about it, but I think that it's one of the worst tracks on the album. I don't know it seems very lazy. Plus it sounds like a Christmas song.

Just checked about basketball game.
Starts at 8 pm. Will probably have half hour pre-game befor game begins so they may play KTDA again.
Sounds cheesy but a lot of people will be tuning in tonight.

help me out here...i believe the population of the UK is around 60 million? is that right? if so that means a copy sold for every 25 people or so. this would equate to an american act selling about 1+ million in the first week here. (our pop is around 275-300 million) that would be a truly staggering number in the "download age"
i know its not 700K, but with these kind of numbers its hard to believe the uk still isn't widely MAD FER IT

but with these kind of numbers its hard to believe the uk still isn't widely MAD FER IT Make no mistake, in the UK Oasis is still the most important band. It's been proven that in the UK now, middle-aged people buy the most albums, thats why Coldplay will sell a lot of records this year, cos they really appeal to the Radio 2-buy an album while at Sainsburys-crowd. But for people who bands really matter to, Oasis still mean more to more people than any other band. Which is why Coldplay still haven't sold out their UK Tour - cos half of the people who willl buy X&Y couldn't give a shit about seeing them live and really paying homage. I mean, who'd put a poster of Chris Martin up on their wall?

I mean, who'd put a poster of Chris Martin up on their wall? Well said man, Coldplays album will sell well cos its first off good, but more so appeals to the people who actualy go out and buy music and its easy listening soft rock whereas oasis will sell well cos they have a cult following(Don't get me wrong i think this album has changed some peoples view of them) they changed the lives of everyone in my age group(im 26 but anyone growing up musically through the 90's were caught up in the rush, they were the first music happening that i really got into) and they are the band of the people (working class). Chris martins a posh public schoolboy so he will never have the "Cool" appeal of Liam, As you said i guarantee knowone wants to be Chris Martin(I'll have his money and musical ability though, he can keep that strange bint of a wife.) And to be honest im glad for Coldplays success i love seeing british bands do well (Carry on the tradition of great british bands.) Cheers doggboy

They are unimpressive numbers for DBTT - The Magic Numbers' album has sold more on Amazon pre-orders

Just checked the chart a few minutes ago and Oasis is at #6 with 56.94% reporting. A pretty big jump from what I saw last night (around #19 or so).
