That's right kalas, my thoughts exactly. I definitely don't see an 'Achtung Baby' sound shift in Coldplay's future. But you never know, maybe Chris will start wearing leather.

Chris man wearing leather lol. Well he has tried to be funny bout crazy frog so who knows? But AROBTTH wasn't a massive seller anyway and it seems somehow that Parachutes is regarded to be better by many people. AROBTTH hasn't even got 2mil so it won't be a blockbuster for x and y prolly. If this one becomes their WTSMG then the next one will be big but few artists will ever have that amount of anticipation.

No need but cheers anyway. I said to totally wipe it out seeing as most people don't want it and people have exposed it's stupidness so why keep it?

I was excited to get X&Y but I honestly don't think its got the legs to last-No real singles apart from track 3 I reckon. I'm predicting BHN type burnout but they have got a massive world tour so will proably sell loads.

the whole oasis phenomenon thing - i wish that i'd been a part of it. i think i was too young to know what was happening. from all the articles of the day, and people looking back on it, mid nineties, it sounds absolutely amazing and alive and exciting!!! you know, just that spirit. kinda off the point. i'm chuffed about DBTT getting to number 1. everyone is pretty relaxed about but i still think its nice for them to be at number one i hope DBTT stays at number 2 then for awhile, even if the top spot is coldplays. i like coldplay. not nearly as much as oasis - but good luck to them. they are quite big, but its a less frenetic anticipation it appears

Did Oasis not make it to the top 100 on Billboard in the U.S. I just checked and Audioslave is number 1. Oasis isn't on the list. Is this last weeks results which would include Oasis or is this still the prior week, before DBTT release?

in the mid 90's the internet was not used on a large scale I think that's the main reason bands don't sell that amount (DM WTSMG) of records today... At the time you bought a record because you heard the 1st single, which you also bought, and therefore the release of an album was more exciting! a number of the people who bought an album back then would now just rip it off the internet..

The mid 90's which I reckon were the years 1994-1997 was the last time music was amazing. Black music as well was terrific back then. No rubbis 50 cent or ja rule. Hopefully brighter days are around the corner.

Maybe the internet hurts the sales of big albums but for most bands it's a good thing. Back then you would only hear about a band in the radio (unless you were a music freak), I can't count how many albums I bought after reading about them on the internet and checking out some of their stuff out. I think the internet can do wonders for bands they just have to start realizing how to use it to their benefit.
