Liam said in that live chat that he did with Gem the other day that Let There Be Love would probably be a single around Christmas time. I would think that it'll probably be TIOBI next as well, but I could be wrong.

O.K. I am officially confused. It was LTBL a few weeks ago, now it's due out for X-mas. TIOBI was the sure bet a few days ago, now who nows when it'll be out. And NME now says Mucky Fingers is the second one. What the Fuck? I vote for 'Stop the Clocks.' By the time they make up thier minds they'll have finished it by then.

i think it's a good move. the marketing and publicizing will go on for at least six months if this is any indication. expect at least four singles off the album if there's one already planned for the holidays.

I already said this, but again... I don't really care what the next single is, I don't listen to radio anymore. I'm more interested in the B-sides (I hope we don't get Pass me Down The Wine, but something new). It will be fun watching the video, but I doubt I watched the video for Lyla more than 5 times.

I hope we don't get Pass me Down The Wine, but something new Liam was also asked what b-sides would be on the next single, and he said Pass Me Down the Wine.

Past few months NME's singles section has become a 'tracks' section, MF was reviewed on the basis of it being available for download.

Yeah your right m8 if you read it properly it reviews it then says go and find it for yourself but we didn't tell you where to look right! That means it was reviewed before the album was out. TIOBI is 100% the 2nd single Jo whileys said, Liam said it, Colin murray with noel on C4 friday said it, Colin murray said it on radio1 today aswell, If TIOBI is not the 2nd single i will remove my left bollock with an ICE Cream scoop and eat it on prawn toast with Nutella chocolate dripped on top ;D Cheers doggboy

kalas you're spot on with that one right there... Friday my wife and I were going up to Hampton Beach NH for the day and it's about a hour drive so it was a perfect time for me to play the entire album for her... When KTDA came on I cranked it until I thought the speakers would explode... the windows were wide open the sun was shining it was an absolute perfect moment when KTDA came on... I think that KTDA is an obvious choice for a single, the most radio friendly with it's catchy hooks and chorous, funny how no one ever mentions it during the "single talk" on the board here

i agree about KTDA. i don't know why people bash that song. it's a great tune and would be a really good choice for a single. i think it would be a good single to choose for the US. i think LLAB would be a great choice as well. but i'm not disappointed with TIOBI....i was afraid they were gonna release LTBL too early. that will be a good winter single.
- cheers !

Liam said in that live chat that he did with Gem the other day that Let There Be Love would probably be a single around Christmas time. I would think that it'll probably be TIOBI next as well, but I could be wrong. Well Liam didn't actually SAY that, the DJ, Pete Mitchell, suggested it. They played the tune and Pete was like "Is that going to be a single, around Christmas-time...?" and the resposne from Liam and Gem was along the lines "Maybe", "Yeah, that's be top", as far as I recall (could be wrong I guess). I don't think it was definitively stated as being a Crimbo single. In the same interview the played ABWR and said "Will that be a single?" and Gem said "I'd like it to be," but doesn't mean it will happen. When asked how they pick the singles, it was made pretty clear that Noel does it. "Noel says they sort of pick themselves," said Gem, which personally I think is probably not as true with DBTT as it was with HC (eg SCYHO just HAD to be a single - what off DBTT is the obvious one? You could release 5 or 6 songs off it).

I've heard it would be The Importance of Being Idle but I think it should be Mucky Fingers - release a couple of rockers, cos they need to win a few people back (well, y'know, commercially) and Let There Be Love should be the last single off the album - I think that one will be a huge hit, a classic soon.
