I could be wrong.. but I remember reading in the past that Noel said there were over 50 songs available for this album.
If that's the case.. you're telling me none of those songs were better then "love like a bomb", "meaning of soul" or "guess god thinks i'm able"
There are some amazing tunes on this album (lyla, keep the dream alive, bell will ring)... but I still feel something's missing.

I think it's an excellent bunch and they fit well to make a great cd.
I also believe their are a few hidden gems Noel is holding back for the new record deal.

^^^ ding ding ding ! i agree. this album was suppose to be a double CD...but they didnt wunt to give sony that. so obviously they have alot of songs. and plus, by the time they are ready to record again they will have new and maybe even better songs for the next album. but i think that the songs chosen for this album work well together. but i do believe they coulda found something better then Meaning Of Soul. It's ok...but i know there had to be something better.

The 3 you mentioned as being the worst are probably 3 of the best in the majority of peoples eyes, so once again its personal opinion. Although i love Lyla and Keep the dream alive there probably 2 of the weaker tracks off the album, Again my opinion but im sure alot of people on here would agree. Cheers doggboy |

Let's not forget that they haven't just released 11 songs. They've released 16. And with another 6 or 8 to come as b-sides to the up-coming singles, that could be up to 24! Half of what you say they've written!

Exactly the songs you say are not good enough (LLAB, MOS and GGTIA) are Liam's songs and they are absolutely amazing.

these are obviously there bes 11 out of the 66 noel said were done,,,he said that they took 3 years to get it right and he was happy with the outcome ..so i can only guess the other tunes were either not worthy in the cgheifs eyes or still not sounding the way he wants it and they need to be reworked still..take his epic that we have been hearing about for 2 years i wont even mention the name cause i am sick of hearing how great it is only to never hear it  ..NOEL said it still dont sound right but eventually will be released so i guess those tunes just didnt meet expectations and these did..thats my best guess anyway..i love the lp its there first lp since wtsmg where i dont skip over tunes after listening to the lp a few times |

"Stop the Clocks, " mate, that is what's missing from DBTT. Apparently it's supposed to be better than Wonderwall. Now, I don't know about that, but it seems to me that DBTT needed that one tune (other than Lyla) that the public at large could grab on to and fall in love with. I still think there are plenty of tunes to choose from though. PS- Anyone have the bootleg of 'Stop the Clocks' they could share wit us?  |
