I like it, but I think most people on here are overstating how good it is. Its better than the last two, and a great step in the right direction, but its far from one of the best albums ever, and nowhere near their first 3 albums (though nobody has got close to those, so I think that is probably an unfair comparison anyway). I'd give it 7/10 personally. So to answer your question, no - everyone likes it!

CONCUR...
It dumps on the last two overall, but it's got nothing that beats "Go Let it Out" or "Stop Crying You're Heart Out".

The thing is while it is better than HC & SOTSOG, I think there have been other albums over the last few years by other bands that are much better than it. Like the first two Doves albums and Let It Come Down by Spiritualized. So I have trouble calling it a great album, but its definitely very good and gets oasis well and truly back on track.

But I don't think it has anything as good as Gas Panic! But like you said, overall its a much better album as a whole.

When I say "Go let it out" is better than anything on this album I mean it's really their last bona fide song that can hang with the swaggering type "CLassic Oasis" songs from the first three albums.
The new songs has a different vibe and different intentions and are different from the old swaggering Oasis songs.

I see what you mean about the different vibe, and I agree on that. I think Go Let It Out is a great tune as well, but I don't really think it can hang with that classic Oasis type stuff, it seems a bit weedy by comparison to the stuff on their first 3 albums and the Masterplan. But its still a really good song regardless.

I look forward to hearing the songs on the first 3 albums when I pop it into the cd player. I just don't get the same excitment about the songs on DBTT. They're not awful, they just don't move the way their older stuff does

I wouldn't say it's so much wishing it were another DM, WTSMG or even a BHN. I think it's the fact I don't find myself wanting to play a track over and over like I used to. It's only inevitable that there's a dropoff after the first 3, and I realize that. But that's just my opinion

I think the album is more well-rounded than the last two, but there's no real standout tracks that you can say "wow, now that's a song" like Go Let it Out, Gas Panic and Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Little by Little, Songbird on their respective CD's...this CD has all of the talent spread out evenly instead of focused in a few songs with tihe rest being shit...

The more I listen to it.. the more the album grows on me. There are a few great songs, but dissapointing ones as well (1,4,5) 7/10

I think it's a pretty solid album. It kind of reminds me of Morning Glory , in the sense that if you ask 8 people their favorite tune on the album you'd get about 6 different answers. As to where the last one was narrowed down to about 3 songs. but that's my opinion. I'm not comparing it to Morning Glory in substance.....so don't go off about it. But they could have found something better then Meaning of Soul.
- cheers !

I don´t think it's better than SOTSOG, to be honest I don´t like it. I liked a couple of tunes but I didn't get the feeling I did when I first heard WDIAGW, or SCYHO (and I'm not even talkin bout the feeling we all felt when we first heard wonderwall or live forever). There's good songs, no doubt, but (IMO) Liam's voice kills all the goodness that's left in the songs.
I really really hate the fact that it is impossible to forget that Noel Gallagher wrote The Masterplan, that Liam once sung Slide Away and Wonderwall with such great sweetness in his voice, the fact that in one point of our lives we all said "YES, they are the best band ever" Maybe if I did forget that, I wouldn´t expect so much of them, and I would be more tolerant with their music.

I think what really shows the quality of the album is that there is not one or two commonly unliked songs. Look at all the reviews in print publications as well as online, and look at posts here. Some reviews tear up GGTIA and KTDA, while others say Lyla and Mucky Fingers are terrible. Of course everyone will not like every song most likely, but that fact that there isn't one or two common mislikes really shows the quality, and how diverse the album is.

The two songs that I used to absolutely hate (PYMWYMI and ICSAL), I'm looking at in a different light after the last two albums. For me DBTT falls in between SOTSOG and HC +K

one thing i don't get is how some people here can say it's as good or better than either of the first two albums. That's a bit far i think. In fact i don't think it's even close to BHN.
well anyway it's new so everyone is high on it. wait a couple of months and then we'll read some more realistic views on the album

wow with they way everyones been goin on about the album i expected 1 or 2 posts here. but yea i think most of ya's are right eh? theres lyla as the standout track there, but theres no go let er out, live forever or immidiate song. but i guess then, like with sotsog you had fitb, then glio, and gas panic a few later but the rest of the album as far as i'm concerned really couldnt stand up to those songs. sorta like heathen chemistry too, blasts out the gates with hindu times, then the rest of the album was alot more laid back and it made it kinda akward. which is exactly the problem with this new U2 album. dbtt, although, has all the songs on the same page. its like the first 3, especially morning glory.
as well, noels songs, i honestly dont like. but i'm going mad trying to get them out of my head. that stupid guitar interlude during the bridge of tiobi is driving me freakin bonkers, i keep involuntarily whistling it. damn you noel!
