from a unbiased source ;D..my mother! when i was with shadow last night i was telling her the story and she thought i should post it.. so here goes when i went to pick my mom up the other day i had on DBTT...,My mom turned to me and said "steve this is the only group i heard you play i like other than OASIS"  I was crackin up ,when i told her it was OASIS SHE WAS SHOCKED ,she said it sounded so different but she loved it, mind you she is 67! at work she asks all the british guys in bear stearns if they like OASIS and they are stunned she knows them she can rattle off the songs to them like crazy ...for someone like my mom not to know its OASIS means they did something right |

lol you've got a cool mom ;D my father says: GO LISTEN TO PINK FLOYD! NOT OASIS! and i say: ..dad.. haven't you seen my three floyd posters in my room?  and he says i shouldn't listen to oasis but more rock n roll instead. lol but one day i was listening to dm and suddenly he comes in and says: finally listening to something but oasis!! ;D so i finally lent him dm and now we are all happy ;D |

my mum doesnt fundementally get oasis. or music in general. she thinks its nice to listen to the beatles or whatever, but i dont think she gets the same....buzz, that i do when i listen to good music
she just says im obsessed -.- i mean yeah, im REALLY into Oasis. and i listen to them a lot and go on this forum like every couple of nights for a bit...but i lsiten to heaps of other music and it doesnt consume or interefere my other activities. its just an influence at most, and it makes me happy!!! so i dont see why she gets annoyed about me liking oasis so much. its kind of annoying that she doesnt understand something that is so important to me
example: i got DBTT on monday and i was JUST flopping down on the bed as mucky fingers came on and she pops in her head and goes 'you've got to take the dog for a walk' 'okay, after this finishes' 'but that will be in ages! this takes 2 mins' 'look, i have been waiting for this moment for about 3 years, the dog can survive' -she huffs- 'this is wrong. nothing should be this important in your life that you are neglecting basic duties' 'i'm not neglecting anything!!!!! give me half an hour!!!!!!!'
i was trying not to lose it which i often do -.- was really hard. so she gave up, glared and walked off.
it was so fuckin annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean serisouly, surely she has heard me mention at dinner over the past year enough times to know that i have looking forward to the release so much.
my dad was a saving grace cos when he got back from work mum was complaining about how slack i was and he was like 'is this the oasis album?' 'yeah.....' and then he suprisingly went 'ohh! well i think its good you are happy about music!' and my mum was fuming that he'd undermined her argument. quite funny =P

You have cool moms and dads  My mom (51 years) and my little sister (22 years old) likes some oasis tunes, like Don´t look back in anger, Some might say and The masterplan. And my little brother (16) has just last year finally find Oasis, with little my help ;D now he´s got all albums, and I think that his favorite album is apparently HC..good album thouh. But that was before DBTT..so it can change |
