It's no secret Speed of Sound sounds like it could have been on the last album. That's why they picked it as the first single. I don't understand whay you're saying when you say you expected the results to be more obvious? Have you heard the new album?......By the way, I don't think Coldplay will be get any flack in the states for supporting Kerry, the election is over and done with, the main focus for the band is promoting the album and touring. The only political topic they'll talk about will be Fair Trade. Whoa! I LIKE Coldplay. And that thing about record companies wanting the first single to sound like previous material? I said that, too. You're right. Probably no one will remember that they dedicated some award to "John Kerry, your new president," and that Martin called Cheney evil.

don't get what all this Coldplay/Oasis arguing is going on for.
Just remember 1) Coldplay are really big now, but they will never be as big as Oasis in their prime 2) Coldplay's best stuff is no where near Oasis' best stuff 3) Chris Martin sounds like he got kicked hard in the balls when he was a wee lad. 4) Coldplay may break out in the US - but it seems they aren't that big in their own country (relatively speaking)
