I can't help but laugh every time I see someone on here take a dig at Noel about him ripping off other bands. I mean every single music critic in the world has made a joke about Noel being unoriginal and ripping off others. And yet someone will still come on here and take more digs at Noel for being unoriginal, which in itself is one of the most unoriginal things you can do. People have been making these digs for about ten fucking years, get over it! Making jokes about Noel being unoriginal is even more unoriginal than Noel stealing a riff!

It's like "sunshine", "soul", and "all mine" in Noel AND Liam's lyrics man, the noel bashing isn't ever going to go and neither are those three phrases!

Another thing is that it's a constant cycle. Every band is inspried by those preceeding it, and whose fault was it that the Beatles came along before Oasis? You don't here critics slagging off the killers because they like oasis...

My point was its just ironic how they bash him for being unoriginal, while that in itself IS unoriginal too. And they seem to think they are making a clever or funny comment, when its all been said before a million times.

well when someone bashes Noel they run the risk of dealing with me ! On the DM DVD their former producer (help me with my word/name retrieval) addresses this. He referenced Kurt Cobain knocking off (ie. the Vasolines, meat Puppets, etc.) For some reason Noel always took the brunt of it. That is like saying "hey Elvis, you ripped off all those blues tunes from the South !" Noel has confidence and yeah they have attitude. they admit that they like their music and are proud of it. that is why they get "dinged." and ppl are jealous of their sheer genius and ability to write crowd pleasers !! SIMPLY BRILLIANT ! If you go on the OOF site (Oasis Obsessed Fans) they have great references to a number of bands that praise them and state that they have been inspired, etc. I was listening to the Jet CD the other week and there was all kinds of knockoffs/similiarities i.e. BTO, etc. But it's all good. Step out on this forum had a good point on another thread about how all bands listen to music and are therefore influenced. we discussed Colplay and how you can hear Johnny Marr, the Egdge , etc. Of course.. hey, good thread. peace, out

Exactly On James LaBrie's solo album there are rip-offs of Metallica, Oasis, U2 and Linkin Park. Still a good album

the thing is that oasis are the most influential band britain has seen in the past 20 years. how many of you have picked up guitars because of oasis? how many of you have gotten into the beatles, the stones etc. because of oasis. it really doesnt matter where you get your songs from. if they make someone want to pick up a guitar or even a glockenspiel and buy exile on mainstreet instead of limp bizkit you did a great fuckin job.
