On the "official" release day of DBTT I thought it would be interesting to compare and contrast it to Coldplay's X&Y. It's great to see the music scene livening up with the releases of DBTT and X&Y. I just listened to the whole of Coldplay's new album and it's good, not as great as DBTT, but good. It's really floaty and dreamy, light and mild. DBTT I would say is rockier, complicated in a simple classic-way. Anyways, hear a link to listen to X&Y (it's on the right side of the main page, by the way a mega alternate site for rarities and news). Have a Listen and you decide. X & Y is anything but good, and Don`t Believe The Truth pisses on it from a great height.

By what all the reviews have said, they made it sound like X & Y was lightyears better then DBTT. After listening to all of X & Y, there is no way X&Y is better then DBTT. X&Y can even seem a bit boring. As WelcomeToTheNorth said, DBTT album of the year.

i dont get why we are so keen comparing these 2 lps ..to me its like comparing aerosmith(in there prime) to journey journey would outsell them because they had mass appeal they were "light rock" that all enjoyed even me when i had a girl in the car in high school i would crank aerosmith 70s aerosmith the year is 1982 aerosmith were broken up but there old stuff ruled when i would pick up a girl they would want to hear journey , so i put it in and it wasnt bad it wasnt great but i could listen ,same with coldplay they remind me of a modern day journey they are light non offensive and dont play music that makes you want to grab your buddy and sing along ,so comparing the two is pointless they are 2 different sounds man you can like both ,i prefer the rawer sound of OASIS alot of people prefer the introspective easy listening style of chris martins coldplay, you really cant compare the 2 ..imo

Wouldn't be suprised if that happened but couldn't really see them doing that to coldplay. Is there still the rumor going around that this is coldplay's last album?

how are you suppose to write music if you don't listen to music? and if you listen to music, you're going to be inspired by music.

comon X&Y is not that bad, guys...you dont need to like chris martin and his own pathetic but some of the songs on that one are really good...probably not as cracking as on previous albums tho need to give it a listen again
