I was looking in my City's paper the other day and read this review. It is from the Edmonton Journal in Canada. I also attached the writer of the review's email adress, so you can send all the hate mail you want. She is so dumb, she says Liam sings on TIOBI.
Sandra Sperounes (Music) (780) 429-5348 ssperounes@thejournal.canwest.com
CD: Don't Believe The Truth
Artist: Oasis
Label: Epic/Sony MBG
Rating: 2 1/2 Stars out 5
Review: Ten years ago, Britain was gripped with Blur versus Oasis fever. Who was the better band? Who would sell more albums? Which single would top the charts? While the petulant Gallagher brothers have ultimately sold more copies and enjoyed more infamy as they punched their way around the world, Damon Albarn and Blur were more focused on challenging their artistic impulses. Just compare Albarn's ambitious side project, Gorillaz, with the latest Oasis effort, Don't Believe The Truth. Once again, Noel and Liam Gallagher pay tribute to the Beatles, gaggy lyrics ("She's the queen of all I've seen") and their brotherly love (Guess God Thinks I'm Abel). In a desperate attempt to recapture the vitality of the group's earlier recordings, Oasis forgo melodies for messiness. Songs such as Turn Up The Sun, Mucky Fingers and Lyla sound so anxious and loose, they feel like they're about to unravel. Two tracks are able to harness the group's overzealousness with more successful results. The Importance of Being Idle is a '60s circus-like number sung by an uncharacteristically passionate Liam, while Part of the Queue contrasts his defiant lyrics ("Stand tall/Stand proud") with the hyper strums of an acoustic guitar and the alarming rings of a piano. Truth? I dare you to waste any more money on Oasis.

I fucking hate how all the reviews are always saying how Oasis are trying to "recapture the vitality of the group's earlier recordings"
GET FUCKED!
10 years ago was 10 years ago and now is now

This is the letter I sent her
"Dear Ms. Sandra Sperounes,
As an admirer of Oasis, I read your review of their latest LP - 'Don't Believe The Truth' - with interest.
However, upon completion of your article, I came to the conclusion that you had barely heard the album.
Here are 2 excerpts from your review for the evidence that has shaped my conclusion;
"The Importance of Being Idle is a '60s circus-like number sung by an uncharacteristically passionate Liam"
Sorry to break it to you sweetheart, but Noel sings on that track.
"while Part of the Queue contrasts his [Liam's] defiant lyrics ("Stand tall/Stand proud") with the hyper strums of an acoustic guitar and the alarming rings of a piano"
Again darling, Not Liam but Noel. Perhaps the person who is helping you read this email will explain it to you at a level you can understand. I imagine this would involve drawing pictures for you.
If a doctor was as poor at his job as you are at yours, he would have been struck off the register years ago. And probably in prison too for such marked gross incompetence.
My suggestion to you is that you leave the reviewing of rock albums to those who know what they are talking about and you run along and return to 'reviewing' Britney Spears and Destiny's Child etc. Their laughable attempts at music should walk effortlessly hand in hand with your laughable attempts to review music."

lmao great formal way to complain cheers for that ;D i went for the 'matter of fact' approach she wouldnt have taken it seriously if it was a vitriolic diatribe so i figured the best way to go about it was to be thoroughly polite but incredibly dismissive of her at the same time its ridiculous that such a spastic gets to review anything other than the inside of coffins

She could be working at NME..... But hey I'm a hour away from listening to the single and album! I got a strange feeling, a nice nervous feeling and slept bad this night. I'll hope this album makes me shine and make summer 2005 unforgetable. I'll wish everyone on the forum a lot of joy this release day! It means a lot for us fans and let's be proud and happy that we share this moment. I'll hope that Kalas is keep promoting the album in Hooters Bar and people like Digsy, Gifford, Feckarse and even Shakermaker00 remain active on the forum; spreading the word!
