www.barks.jp/watch/?id=1000004738Noel told an interviewer for Japanese Music site Barks that Lyla was first written for Heathen Chemistry using the working title "SING" but then Travis had a song called Sing so the title got changed to Lyla and the melody reworked for DBTT feel . Dunno if you guys knew that already

=S it appears to have gone through many incarnations then...
i am exceedingly glad they changed it to 'hey lyla' from 'hey smiler' cos that just sounds strange. besides, i like the name lyla
