Okay, so I haven't given a shit about much new music latley, and there aren't many bands I care about as much as Oasis to where I'd actually know about their new albums being streamed with the support of the label, full length, all over the web. Is this common? Do you think it's in response to the leak, or maybe a sign that the leak was planned? Or maybe they're just that proud of the music they think letting everyone listen to it prior to the release will be good advertising? I find it kind of curious why they'd stream the whole thing on popular websites

I was suprised by it too. VH1 does have an entire section of there website called hear music here first, and right now I see about 4 other albums you can listen too, so I guess it is somewhat common nowadays... It makes sense as a promotional tool, since they can't be downloaded(although im sure some people have figured out how to download streams)..... I assume the streams will disappear after the album comes out...

It's a way to stop people from searching for the full quality album leak, cos then they would probably NOT buy it when it comes out. When the album comes out the stream will be off-line so people will buy the album.
Of course some people know how to record the stream or download the leaked, but they're aiming for the lazy ones. ;D
